Whether cultural, symbolic, or just stylistic - tattoos are a visual display of a personal narrative. For R. Toby Linwood and Nisha Supahan, owners of TATTOO 34 ON HAWTHORNE LLC, a BIPOC-owned, women-owned, family run tattoo business in Portland, the ink runs much deeper. Representation in the tattoo industry (especially in Oregon) is much needed. Their shop supports BIPOC resident artists and actively promotes regional Black and Brown tattoo artists on their website. They have created an inclusive and welcoming space where their clients feel cared for, their artists are included and invested, and support continued growth within the industry. Find out more about Tattoo 34, their artists, and how you can make an appointment on their website: tattoo34pdx.com

Delighted to feature another A.wordsmith article spotlighting Oregon Entrepreneurs Network Members this July. After a startup Jeremy Hammer was working for dissolved, he found an opportunity to innovate from a different angle and founded High Peak Medical - improving and evolving a novel blood diversion device that can help prevent false positive blood cultures. “Throughout the process, I learned that what I was working on wouldn’t necessarily create more adoption over competitors, and I shifted to increasing the intellectual property (IP)’s value,” Hammer said. That shift proved fruitful as Magnolia Medical Technologies acquired High Peak Medical and its associated IP in July 2023. Follow this link to read more on the OEN Blog: https://lnkd.in/e4p7yx9v

Oregon based Rising Wines Collective was founded on the idea that people that love wine also love community. And their team's mission is to connect you with some of the best small-production wines from Washington, California, and Oregon. Small production means wines with a high level of care and hand-crafted quality in each bottle - most with less than 15,000 cases in production -- and it also makes for a wine collective of very covetable limited-production wines. Through Rising Wines Collective you'll learn about the diversity of the winemakers, the stories behind each wine, and their winemaking practices; sustainable, minimal intervention, organic, biodynamic, and more. Find out how you can join their community on their website: risingwinescollective.com
