Firebreak tells the powerful story of Brandon Smith and Royal Ramey, two men who met while fighting wildfires in California’s penal system. Against all odds, they now train others like them to become professional firefighters. 💣DEADLINE APPROACHING 🧭 Oregon Humanities' Community Storytelling Fellowship is awarded annually to Oregonians who belong to communities that are underrepresented in Oregon media. Each fellow receives $5,000 to support the creation of true stories—including journalism, creative nonfiction, video, audio, and other media—about those communities. Stories are shared in Oregon Humanities magazine and other publications. Three fellowships are reserved for storytellers living in rural communities. Ranking other candidates does not harm your Rank 1 choice. - To write in a candidate, write the candidate’s name on the line provided and fill in the oval for the rank of your choice.
