  • About 20 staff and trainees from OPRD and Lane County Government Search and Rescue (LCSR) joined efforts this week to solve a 20-year-old problem; retrieving pieces of a picnic table resting on a cliff’s edge 50 feet below Heceta Head Lighthouse. LCSR used this opportunity as a training exercise and successfully hauled up the broken table. LCSR was thankful for the unique training scenario and park staff were thankful for their help to restore the cliff side to a pristine state.
