Why do organizations struggle to cross the chasm between what needs to be done and how to get there? Continuing our weekly series discussing the 14 Stances of Highly-Effective Product owners, we want to highlight Stance #2, Chief Strategic Enabler. Scrum was designed to help leaders clarify the destination and create an environment where cross-functional teams could self-organize and find the most effective way to help the company get there. The Product Owner must create and communicate a compelling strategy that helps deliver on the Product Vision. This strategy must be easy to understand and believable, and the Product Owner must behave in a way that enables the implementation of the strategy. Do your teams know how to get where they need to go? 🎯 #14Stances #ProductOwner #OrgWhisperer Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)

What can a 3rd grader teach about coaching? Consider this story from Chief Org Whisperer, Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)… When my 3rd grader had a choir recital, we all went to watch her sing. As she sang, I could see her scanning the crowd to find us all. When she found us and saw that we were looking at her with undivided attention, unconditional love, and undiluted joy, her whole face lit up like a thousand watt 💡. It shifted her energy and she sang with even more joy. It reminded me of what it means for a coach to hold space for a client. According to the Co-Active Training Institute, the client is NCRW (naturally creative, resourceful and whole). The client doesn’t need the coach solve problems for them. The client has been blessed with all they need to solve their own problems. They need their coach to be their cheer leader, believe in them and look at them with undivided attention, unconditional love and undiluted joy. When the coach holds this space for the client and looks at them in this special light, the client can be who they wish to be. They can do amazing things they never thought possible. May you have a coach who looks at you the way a loving parent looks at their third grader on stage. May you have clients who give you goose bumps with the privilege of being their coach. #Coaching #OrgWhisperers #Transformation

Have you noticed there are many different interpretations of Product Ownership? The Product Owner is probably the most misunderstood of the three Scrum accountabilities. Based on experiences of our Chief Org Whisperer, Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP), we’d like to share a series of weekly posts highlighting the 14 Stances of Highly Effective Product Owners. Stance #1 Chief Inspiration Officer: Scrum teams work best when they are passionate and inspired. Unfortunately, Developers sometimes feel disconnected from the impact of the work they are doing. They are unable to see the consequences the increment is having on the lives of their users, which can create disengaged or demotivated order-takers who may be doing what they are told—no more, no less. An effective Product Owner must be able to inspire Developers towards a greater purpose that aligns with their personal purpose. They must be truly inspired by their product and radiate a contagious passion and energy every waking moment! Do your teams feel inspired by the work they are doing? #14Stances #OrgWhisperers #ProductOwner

“You see, if you take pains and learn in order to get a reward, the work will seem hard; but when you work… if you love your work, you will find your reward in that.” —Leo Tolstoy Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP) founded Org Whisperers to work with organizations on a deeper level to see the challenges that are causing pain in the hearts of its people and unleash their hidden potential. We love to see the improvement in the way teams, stakeholders, and management collaborate and the resiliency they develop as they face such an unpredictable and uncontrollable world. Not only do organizations realize success, but their teams go home with joy and plenty of energy left to devote to their families. And that is why we do what we do… 👉 What about you? What's the passion behind what you do? #HappyLaborDay #OrgWhisperers

How can you intentionally cultivate joy and team harmony to deepen the impact of hard work? Hint: The key word is "intentionally". When joy, hard work, and team harmony are present, they create a positive feedback loop! 🌺 Joy boosts morale and engagement, making hard work more enjoyable and less burdensome. ⚒ Hard Work amplifies the benefits of joy by ensuring that the enthusiasm and ideas are translated into tangible results. 🎶 Team Harmony ensures that the combined efforts of joy and hard work are channeled effectively, enhancing collaboration and problem-solving. Together, these three elements create the perfect environment where teams can deliver high-value outcomes consistently and effectively. #AgileROI #ScrumTeam #OrgWhisperers Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)

💊 “Prescription before diagnosis is malpractice!” This is something we learned from one of our partners, Nagesh Sharma. Just as it would be unethical for a doctor to perform surgery because you told them that’s what ChatGPT said you needed, it is unethical and incompetent for a coach or consultant to implement a training, coaching, or consulting program without first assessing what’s going on. 🛑 This is why we never start any engagement without an Agility Assessment. If you are an executive and this resonates with you, ask your coaches and consultants to do an assessment before an implementation. If you are a coach, don’t be a mindless order-taker and do what the client demands if it will harm the client. If you need help, ask us! https://lnkd.in/grtcjeZz #AgileTransformation #AgileCoach #OrgWhisperers Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)

👉 Why is humility important in leadership? Strong leaders trust in their vision and capabilities but remain humble enough to listen, learn, and empower their teams. Understanding that their success is intertwined with the success of those around them, they work to remove roadblocks that impede progress. Do your teams feel empowered and supported? Ask them! 🌟 Create an environment of trust where everyone has the opportunity to shine. #ServantLeader #AgileLeadership #OrgWhisperers # Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)

☕ What can Starbucks teach us about making mistakes? ☕ Have you ever gotten the wrong drink at Starbucks? It happens sometimes! Our experience has been that they just make it right. No arguments, no blame. This is excellent guidance on how to treat our customers when we mess up. Just follow three steps: 1. Own it 2. Apologize 3. Fix it Whether in personal or business life, mistakes are guaranteed. We WILL mess up. It is futile and unhelpful to try to be perfect. What is more important is to design with your clients how you will handle the inevitable mistakes when they happen. ➡ What has been your best experience when a business messed up and made it right for you? ➡ How do you create a culture of making it right in your organization? #OrgWhisperers #AgileLeadership #ScrumTeam #ProductOwner Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)
