Every year during fall, millions of birds migrate south passing through large urban landscapes like Louisville, Kentucky. Join the Lights Out Louisville initiative to create a safer environment for night-migrating birds passing through our area. Turn off outdoor lighting to reduce the risk of disorientation for birds. The 430 acres Origin Park resides on were the home of First Nations over 10,000 years ago. The very start of what became the State of Indiana in the colonial era began on these 430 acres. Stories of the past started here, and we hope the story of a rebirthed, rewilded, and renewed Ohio River shoreline begins here too as the park grows in the coming years. This site speaks to the origins of the past, and we hope, the origins of our future.
