About us

Public education is the cornerstone of our communities! Education provides a huge array of opportunities for students to be able to connect, grow and thrive through the support of incredible teachers. Our schools are the setting to so many amazing stories in the Kansas City region, and we are providing a place for them to be told. Our Kids. Our Communities. Our Future. is an initiative of The Cooperating School Districts of Greater Kansas City (CSDGKC) - a co-op of 34 school districts working together to create local results through regional cooperation. Our member districts serve different populations in our area, but are all united under common goals of providing every student with the type of education that supports them, motivates them and allows them to pursue and achieve their dreams.

Public schools provide amazing opportunities not just for our kids, but for our greater communities. Hickman Mills School District kicked off their first Adult English as a Second Language course last month! This is a great way for parents to improve their English language skills while forming new relationships with other families.

In public schools around the Kansas City region, the first day of school is a time of positive anticipation. In Liberty, Carter experienced her very first day as a kindergartener, with her mother as a teacher in the same building. Baron experienced his very last first day of school as a senior at Liberty High School. This sweet story, told by the Liberty Public Schools team, shows all the excitement of these experiences. #OurKidsGKC

Students in Pleasant Hill R-3 School District have been busy practicing their trades skills! Welding students passed their safety exams, Construction students built an awards podium for the school’s wrestling meets, and Landscape and Design students have been propagating plants for their spring sale. These important skills that public education provides our kids transcend the classroom!

Our public schools teach critical thinking skills and inspire students to dream big. At Fort Osage High School, students were visited by a panel of esteemed attorneys and judges for the Federal Bar Association's National Civics Day. The students asked questions and left with some key takeaways.
