Just like any runner must train for their race, a gymnast must practice their tricks, and swimmers must strengthen their strokes, we also have a prize that we as believers in Christ are called to put in hard work for. The more we exercise our faith—whether through our Bible reading, prayer life, spiritual gifts, or relationships, the more prepared we are to withstand even the toughest of trials. Despite the obstacles, challenges, or distractions that come our way, we can continue to carry Paul’s torch, committing to achieving the goals and prize fully realized in eternity (Philippians 3:14).

“This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.” —1 John 4:13 There will be a lot that we don’t understand in this lifetime. The pains that we carry, the trials we walk through with loved ones, and the suffering that we see around us certainly don’t always make sense. But both throughout the entire Bible and in our everyday experiences, we see God’s goodness is always on full display. The more we seek Him, sit in His presence, and focus on our time in His Word, the more our eyes, ears, and hearts will become attuned to growing His fruit. How often are you reading your Bible each week? Share in the Comments!
