Some projects require the use of P6 for providing schedule visibility to stakeholders (especially the owner). However, P6 is a complicated program and is not user-friendly. It is frustrating and time consuming to use, and it introduces inefficiencies. Often, this leads to the schedule being out of date, because folks are simply avoiding having to make the inevitable updates in P6. 🤯 As a result, many mid-market GCs would prefer not to use P6 in general, but also wouldn’t turn away a job just because it required P6 - so they continue to slog through P6 when required to do so for a project.
