"Why pharmacy? I was initially drawn to the world of pharmacy due to the various career avenues one could take. Along the way, I found a passion in helping patients navigate this complex healthcare system we have – whether that’s helping them understand the medicines they take, why they take them, how to take them correctly or how to overcome access barriers. After spending parts of my career thus far in various roles, including retail pharmacy, regulatory affairs, sales, and currently Outcomes, I am more and more fulfilled with the opportunity to impact patients at a broader level. Working in this innovative industry with various pharmacies, health plans, pharmaceutical manufacturers and all the partners in between has opened my eyes to even more patient needs that exist. I’m excited to tackle that challenge everyday as a Clinical Pharmacist at Outcomes." -Kelsey Rooker, PharmD

"Like a lot of pharmacists, pharmacy is a family affair for me. My Dad, my two brothers, and my wife are all pharmacists. My first exposure to pharmacy was going to work with my Dad at Lutz Pharmacy in Altoona, IA. As a 10 year old, I thought the pharmacy was awesome. While my favorite section was the candy isle, I loved watching my Dad fill scripts and educate patients. As I got older, I gained a great appreciation for the profession and the role pharmacists plays in the healthcare ecosystem. My Dad held numerous roles including working with Iowa’s Governor on Long Term Care initiatives, establishing an innovative hospital program in Rome, Italy, and representing pharmacists as the Executive Director of the Arizona Pharmacy Association. By the time I started college, becoming a pharmacist was no-brainer. Pharmacy has been the perfect career choice for me. I have had the opportunity to work in community pharmacy, industry, academia, and as an entrepreneur. My brothers and my wife have worked in hospital pharmacy, poison control, national associations, and regulatory affairs. Pharmacists improve patient care in so many ways. I hate to think what healthcare would be like without pharmacists." -Kevin Boesen

"I began my journey in community pharmacy in my hometown of Plant City, FL when I was 18 years old. For the last 14 years of my career I have focused on pioneering innovative pharmacist intervention models of care. Through teaching at the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy, research, entrepreneurship, and industry leadership, I have served as a visionary leader in the profession. I have dedicated my time working to define and test national medication therapy management program standards, and quality measure specs for Medicare plan ratings. I enjoy navigating how to operate new technology solutions and operational models within the heavily regulated pharmacy and healthcare industry. I am a clinical pharmacist by training and certified in healthcare compliance. Currently, I serves as Chief Compliance Officer at Outcomes and I'm a part of the National Quality Metrics Expert Panel for the Pharmacy Quality Alliance. I became a pharmacist because I wanted to apply my love for science to helping seniors manage their medications. It was the perfect intersection bringing subjects I loved in school with my desire to have a career that involved helping people in a relational way." -Anna Hall, PharmD, BCACP, CHC
