America’s leading coalition of outdoor recreation trade associations and organizations

About us

The Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) is America’s leading coalition of outdoor recreation trade associations and organizations working to promote the growth of the outdoor recreation economy and outdoor recreation activities. ORR members represent the thousands of businesses that produce vehicles, equipment, gear, apparel and services for the 164 million Americans who enjoy our national parks, waterways, byways, trails and outdoor spaces. The various outdoor recreation business sectors produce a combined $1.1 trillion output for the U.S. economy and create 5 million direct jobs. We educate decision-makers, and the public, on balanced policies that conserve public lands and waterways and enhance infrastructure to improve the experience and quality of life of outdoor enthusiasts everywhere.

NEW: The Western Governors' Association and the 19 states and 3 territories they represent just released a letter throwing their support behind the EXPLORE Act to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate ENR Chairman Joe Manchin, and Senate ENR Ranking Member John Barrasso. From the letter: "The West's world-class outdoor recreation destinations draw increasing numbers of visitors each year. However, these areas need support, infrastructure, and tools to manage increasing levels of recreation while maintaining these resources for the enjoyment of all, and for future generations. We urge the Senate to pass comprehensive outdoor recreation legislation to address these challenges."
