Today, Texan by Nature announced that Overland Partners was named to the organization’s 2024 TxN 20 list for the fourth year in a row, highlighting our commitment to conservation alongside a group of nationally and internationally renowned companies. This is a recognition we don’t take lightly: For nearly 40 years, Overland has been built on the concept that physical transformations lead to human ones — and that our architectural practice and work should ultimately lead to human flourishing. As such, we have been pioneers in sustainability and big believers in the power and importance of resilience. Today, Overland Partners celebrates the life of Robert Schmidt — one of our firm’s co-founders, partners, principals and our lifelong friend. We are grateful to call ourselves beneficiaries of Robert’s love, honesty, consistency and faithfulness — characteristics he graciously shared with all of us, both personally and professionally. We will remember Robert for many reasons: He was a passionate teacher, mentor and coach, always willing to offer a wise and kind word. To so many, he was a great friend, a faithful brother and a wonderful colleague. His sense of humor, overwhelming friendship and generous spirit will no doubt live on. Robert’s impact on all of us has been profound — and at Overland we will endeavor to continue to live into the legacy that he leaves behind.
