We protect over 30,000 acres of land across the Ozark region through ownership, conservation easements and restoration.

About us

Ozark Land Trust has since 1984 protected land across the Ozark region, and currently we steward over 30,000 acres of forests, prairies, watersheds and other landscapes. We protect land through both ownership and conservation easements, which allow landowners to keep ownership while keeping the land from development. Once we become the steward of the land, we monitor it on an annual basis to ensure the provisions of protection are complied with. OLT's model is purely voluntary, meaning landowners choose to participate in conserving their land. Landowners may donate their land or easements, which may result in a charitable deduction per IRS requirements. And we also have foundations, agencies and nonprofits who may participate in providing assistance in some circumstances. We also rely on our many supporters across the Ozarks for operating assistance to allow us to work on new projects. If you have interest in learning more, visit our website at ozarklandtrust.org
