For 34 years, Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa has partnered with Orchard Place to foster a safe environment for children and youth to overcome their mental health challenges. The youth at Orchard Place Residential Campus had the pleasure of welcoming Cucho Madero, a professional musician who performs at festivals throughout Iowa. Cucho showcased the pan flute and shared its history both globally and in Peru. He spoke about ancient Peruvian civilizations and highlighted the significance of music in their culture. Cucho encouraged the youth to participate by playing instruments such as rattles, drums, rain-sticks, and small Peruvian pan flutes.
