Packetcraft celebrates the launch of the Bluetooth SIG's latest revision of the Bluetooth core specification, version 6.0 which features secure fine ranging enabled by Channel Sounding. We began shipping pre-release controller software supporting Channel Sounding earlier this year to valued licensees including leading semiconductor companies. We have also been involved in ongoing industry testing and collaborate with a number of 3rd-party Channel Sounding algorithm suppliers including imec, Lambda:4 Entwicklungen GmbH, and Metirionic GmbH. Great to meet up with our friends at Ambiq, Blecon, and many companies at Sensors Converge this week! Bluetooth was everywhere at the show (of course!), in lots of cool demos, like this energy harvesting sensor demo from Ambiq.

At Auto China in recent weeks, Ellisys demonstrated their EBQ / Analyzer / Implementation Under Test (IUT)test setup using a standard HCI interface to the Packetcraft Channel Sounding link layer. "More than 260 CS Qualification tests have already been implemented and verified at multiple test events around the globe—an indicator that this burgeoning technology is catching wind..." The prelude to the release of the Channel Sounding specification includes market application testing and conversations like the ones that occurred at ICCE. A solution that promises high accuracy, high security, low power and a standardized interoperability--signature of Bluetooth technology--is an anticipated one.
