We’re excited to announce that Paladin has led a $7.6M investment in Irish data science and AI development platform, Zerve. The startup based in Tipperary, Ireland, is focused on unlocking the potential of AI and data science through its unique, developer-centric platform. Launched earlier this year, the platform simplifies the building, managing and deployment of data and AI models, reducing cycle times by at least 9X, ensuring that organizations can build and see the results of their data science efforts faster. Currently, many data science projects fail to have the desired impact due to tangible gaps between those who develop the models and those who deploy the models. This handover inefficiency is exacerbated by the lack of much-needed features such as version and dependency management, real-time collaboration, and enterprise features that are absent from existing alternatives. Kenneth Pentimonti, Managing Director, Paladin Capital Group said: “The limitations of current solutions have placed a big barrier in front of innovation at organizations seeking to realise the potential of data science and AI. Zerve’s intuitive platform can release that potential and improve the safety and reliability of the software ultimately deployed. With spend on AI at $33Bn in 2023 in Europe alone, growing 30% per year, we are hugely excited about Zerve’s prospects.” Congratulations to co-founders Phily Hayes, Jason Hillary and Greg Michaelson, and the whole Zerve AI team. https://lnkd.in/eVJGgcnB #investing #AI #datascience #mlops

Today, portfolio company Secure Code Warrior released a new analysis in collaboration with the Paladin Global Institute highlighting the need for Secure-by-Design (SBD) developer upskilling. These findings suggest that critical infrastructure industries like financial services, healthcare, and IT have made progress in advancing SBD initiatives.   Nonetheless, developer skills benchmarks must be in place to ensure that organizations meet industry standards. Secure Code Warrior’s analysis, based on insights from over 20 million data points and more than 250,000 developers around the world, underscores the need to establish these baseline cybersecurity strategies. The Paladin Global Institute is proud to collaborate with Secure Code Warrior as they lead the charge to strengthen our nation's critical infrastructure. Green Flag Ventures is a proud signatory to the newly established Investment Principles and Commitments on Trust, Safety, and Security - an initiative spearheaded by Paladin Capital Group. These principles ensure that portfolio companies follow best practices in cybersecurity, AI development, and national security, ensuring their technologies remain secure, trustworthy, and aligned with democratic values. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working closely with the Paladin team for years, including when they led the #SeriesB round for Nisos (which I co-founded). Their deep expertise in #venture and #nationalsecurity position them as the perfect leaders for this important initiative. In a world where advanced technologies are evolving rapidly, codifying and popularizing these principles is critical to prevent misuse and protect both national and global security. Principles only matter when they’re tested—and where the failure to adhere to them causes harm. We need to ensure that innovation always supports - and never threatens - free societies. We’re honored to be included among the best defense and cyber investors operating in the U.S. today. #InvestmentCommitments #NationalSecurity #AI #Cybersecurity #VC Christopher Steed

What an honour to welcome Kemba Walden to deliver the main stage keynote on day two of the Aviation ISAC Summit in New Orleans. In a career defined by innovation and unwavering dedication to keeping the USA secure, Walden has risen to prominence as one of the leading decision-makers in safeguarding the digital world. She previous held positions in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and as an Assistant General Counsel for Microsoft's digital crimes unit - playing a key role in upholding the integrity of the U.S. elections. Today, she joins us us to share her unparalleled insights and strategies for how to navigate the dynamic digital landscape and build more collaborative, cyber-resilient organisations. Key quote for me: "The most dangerous insider threat is complacency" - that is a keeper! Thank you for everything you do Kemba, and thank you for such an inspiring keynote!

Great insights by Siobhan Gorman Partner, Brunswick Group, Sezaneh Seymour, Ph.D. VP and Head of Regulatory Risk & Policy, Coalition, Inc., and Kemba Walden, President, Paladin Global Institute, Paladin Capital Group at the Global Cybersecurity Policy, Aspen Digital A key takeaway for me: 💡The upside of shifting #cybersecurity risk to the software producers is that they are more capable of enhancing cyber resilience than the small consumers. The downside is that we are comcentratimg the risk. And now the boards of these producers have to establish tradeoffs on operational efficiencies. These risk decisions, at least for truly critical systems have to be made at the board level, not only at the IT level, because of the cascading business impact such decisions will have. #aspencyber
