In #Peru, PADF and our partner Veneactiva Perú proudly supported the establishment of the “Uniendo Fronteras” Entrepreneurs Network in La Libertad, Trujillo, bringing together 37 refugee, migrant, and Peruvian entrepreneurs. By working together, these entrepreneurs are now better able to attract growth opportunities with corporate partners, fostering sustainable socioeconomic development within their communities. 🌟 #PADFMigration Thanks to U.S. Department of State

PADF recently participated in the regional forum 'Effective Integration in Cities: A Commitment towards the 2030 Agenda' in Barranquilla, Colombia. The forum, organized by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, OIM - ONU Migración, UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), and the European Union, aimed to share experiences from the Inclusive Cities and Communities of Solidarity initiatives. 🤝🌎✨ Our Trinidad and Tobago Project Director, Hannah Katwaroo, actively participated in a roundtable discussion on the role that communities and civil society organizations play in fostering integration among refugees, migrants, and host communities, highlighting the extensive community integration and sustainable livelihoods work PADF has done in Trinidad and Tobago with support from UNHCR. #InclusiveCities #2030Agenda #PADFMigration

Last week PADF and Dorcas Mending Hearts Ministry, a Georgetown-based NGO founded and run by Guyanese women lawyers, facilitated an intensive training for police and community leaders in Sand Creek Village on how to combat Domestic and Sexual Violence (DSV). The 26 participants included GPF officers from Lethem and Aishalton, the Deputy Toshao and representatives of the Sand Creek Village Council and Community Policing Group, the Headmistress and teachers from the Sand Creek Secondary School, and representatives of the Wapichana Wiizi Women’s Movement (WWWM), a regional organization dedicated to promoting the rights of Amerindian women. PADF distributed 45 DSV handbooks and trained the participants to cascade the knowledge they had gained to others. Perhaps most importantly, the participants themselves crafted a DSV Referral Pathway and Action Plan to catalyze behavioral change and increase access to support services for survivors in their communities. 📣 PADF sends a heartfelt thank you to the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) U.S. Embassy Port of Spain for their unwavering support of our past project's ongoing lecture series over 20 months and a recent Financial Investigations. These invaluable sessions have shed light on the complexities of the Anti-Gang Statute and related laws, empowering trainees from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) to engage in meaningful discussions and confidently charge gang cases. 🚨👮♀️👮♂️ The knowledge gained from these trainings and the accompanying PowerPoint presentations will be preserved in PADF's forthcoming Gang Investigations Handbook, serving as a lasting resource to enhance understanding and capacity for conducting thorough gang investigations. 📚🔍 This workshop, held after the conclusion of Project GRACE, underscores PADF and INL's steadfast commitment to building capacity for a safer Trinidad and Tobago. 🇹🇹✨
