We have another summer check-in today! Meet Olivia Verdeja, a May 2023 UND Nistler College of Business & Public Administration graduate, working as an Adobe Account Representative at Carahsoft. Learn more about Olivia's experience below! 💚 "After graduation I received a full time job from Carahsoft Technology as an Adobe Account representative. Carahsoft technology is a government and healthcare software distributor. I applied for this job over Handshake. They have a lot of jobs and internships they accept throughout the year whether it’s for marketing, sales, etc. Some of the things I do as an Account Rep is build customer relationships, find leads, work directly with Adobe and a variety of resellers. I work primarily in their Adobe Canada territory while providing support to US government territories and agencies. I have now reached a year at the company and also received a promotion up to mentor where I’m able to train new members as well. I had a handshake account because of University of North Dakota and I was able to connect with a lot of recruiters that way. From the Pancratz Center I worked with Sarah Ramsay and Brianna Black to build my resume and look at jobs and internships that are hiring. I think that definitely helped me and made me stand out in the application process. Brianna Black helped me a lot with looking through LinkedIn, Handshake, and UND’s own job postings so I would know where to start applying. She also helped me edit my LinkedIn and make it more marketing / sales focused. Sarah Ramsay also helped me a lot by informing me how her application process was going and that it’s okay to reach out to recruiters because sometimes the application can get lost and you don’t get a follow up. Advice I would give to students is to use the resources available to you right now. I used all of them my senior year and wish I would’ve started sooner. I would also say to go to the Pancratz Center to learn about application processes since they’ll mention things you didn’t think of before. I would also say when you’re applying to jobs, reach out to the recruiter and friend them on LinkedIn. They will remember your face and think you’re passionate about the position you’re applying for."

Meet Tanner Earsley, a UND Nistler College of Business & Public Administration student majoring in Information Systems! Read more about Tanner’s experience as the IT intern at AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC) below! “I am an Information Systems major, and I am interning at AE2S in Grand Forks. I'm from a little town near Bismarck, so it’s been great spending the whole summer with my friends while working for such a great company! At my internship I get to work with encrypting sensitive company data, server/computer assembly, network administration, and implementation of IT in day-to-day business analytics. Specifically, the Pancratz Career Center and Brianna Black were instrumental [with finding an internship]. I scheduled three separate meetings where I went in to just talk internships. I was provided dozens to apply for, which eventually led me to where I am right now. My advice is apply, apply, apply. You might get 30 no's before 1 yes, and that's okay and is no discredit to your abilities. It's never too early in the year to apply, and you are never too young or inexperienced, so don't be afraid to pursue these opportunities! Doors will genuinely be opened after graduation, so both the skills and experience at an internship are incredibly valuable.” Tanner has gained some awesome experience through his internship. If you are looking for an internship, we would be happy to help guide you through the process!
