• She’s famously known for playing “Half Pint” on “Little House on the Prairie,” but there’s nothing small about Melissa Gilbert’s commitment to improving the lives of everyone affected by pancreatic cancer. 💜 Just in time for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in November, Melissa's lifestyle brand officialmodernprairie is supporting PanCAN by launching a specially curated collection. The Modern Prairie x PanCAN capsule collection is set to debut today, also marking a significant milestone: the 50th anniversary of the beloved hit series “Little House on the Prairie” this fall. 🌾🌻 🌽 From tote bags to pie carriers, there will be something that everyone will love. Proceeds* from the collection will benefit PanCAN, funding vital resources, services and research that drive progress for this disease. In 1991, Melissa lost her mentor, friend and acting partner, Michael Landon, to #pancreaticcancer. And in 2009, Melissa lost her dear friend Patrick Swayze, whom she had known since the early 80s. More than 30 years later, she is more committed than ever to honoring their memories, educating her community and fighting for the future. • In the fight against #pancreaticcancer, Representative Anna Eshoo has been a relentless and steadfast champion in the halls of Congress. 💜 In 2009, Rep. Eshoo said to PanCAN advocates, "It seems to me that it is within our power to do something about pancreatic cancer. In fact, we're going to." And throughout her Congressional career, she's done just that. Ahead of her retirement from Congress, PanCAN President & CEO Julie Fleshman and members of the PanCAN community gathered to honor, celebrate and express their gratitude to Congresswoman Eshoo for her many years as a champion for patients and their families. From the passing of the Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act to the first-ever federally funded pancreatic cancer research program, Rep. Eshoo has been a leader through it all. SHARE your favorite memory of Rep. Eshoo in the comments! 💜
