Account Executive @ Parakeet 🦜 | Building the Future of Outbound Sales

15 minutes deep in the conversation, the prospect hung up. That’s how week 1 ended for me at Parakeet. It was surprising (and a little bit hurtful), but I know it’s all part of the learning process. Here’s what the rest of the week looked like for me: • 4 meetings booked — 3 via cold calls and 1 through a LinkedIn DM 🎉 • Sat on 3 Demos, proudly sourcing one myself • Lots of 1-on-1s with our management team  • Daily group cold-calling sessions (those are always fun) • Worked on my scripts; still searching for the right voice and openers • Got up to speed with Nooks and Salesforce to better manage my leads  • Played with new prospecting tools For those SDRs looking to become an AE, If you think you'll not be SDR-ing when you become an AE, YOU ARE WRONG, BABY! Being an SDR is hard.  Being an AE is hard. But I love it. I'm here for a reason. Stay tuned!

It’s been four months since we launched the Parakeet 🦜 website and organic SEO has been steadily climbing 📈 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗: → Parakeet 🦜 launched ~4 months ago → Still haven’t spent any money on ads → $0 spent on SEO tools → Everything is still being done in-house In the past month, we've: ➕ Added more backlinks (DA 60+) ➕ Refined copy further ➕ Improved page load times   ➕ Published more blogs There are still a ton more changes, updates, and additions coming but we’re getting a bit further along each week. It’s exciting to the baby walking — still mostly baby steps but she’s picking up speed! ✌🏼🦜

Founder & CEO @ Parakeet 🦜 | Building the Future of Outbound Sales

I just hired someone for a position that I wasn’t hiring for. Here’s how it happened… Meet Ibrahim, our new — and very first — Account Executive @ Parakeet 🦜 This was not a role we had open, nor was it one I was planning to hire for this month (or even this year). Ibrahim applied for an SDR role but didn’t just send in a resume; he became a Sales Ninja I couldn’t afford to pass up. Even though the SDR role had been filled He sent me emails. He called me and left voicemails. He followed up with LinkedIn DMs after every call and email. On top of that, he liked and commented on all my posts.  It was basically impossible to NOT notice him. When I agreed to the interview (that he requested) he walked me through exactly how he intended to solve the problems we’re facing based on info he got from my posts. He was focused and confident but never once pushy or aggressive. He asked the right questions at the right time, demonstrating a really solid consultative sales process, and never left a call without the next call scheduled What was I supposed to do when someone with such persistence and tenacity knocks on my (digital) door and takes me through a perfect outbound sales process? So I created a role for him… Welcome to the team, Ibrahim! 🦜👏

If you are doing Cold Email Outreach, 10/15/24 should be marked on your calendar 📅 Google is about to make another big update next week, and if you’re using cold emails for B2B sales, you need to be ready. With Gemini AI powering new security features across Gmail, Drive, and Chrome, Google will now review 1000x more user-reported spam emails daily. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻? Setting up DNS, DMARC, SPF, and warming up accounts won’t cut it If your cold emails look like spam, they’ll end up in spam. It’s that simple. 𝗪𝗵𝘆? Google is strengthening protection against phishing, malware, and scams with Gemini’s new spam filters will be more rigorous than ever. 𝗪𝗵𝗼’𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸? 🔴 Spammy, Generic Emailers: ChatGPT written sales pitches are now going straight to spam. 🔎 “Personalized” Outreach: You’re safer, but you’ll need to really double down on relevance and avoid anything that might look cookie-cutter. How to Adapt: 1️⃣ Hyper-segmentation with custom attributes using tools like Claygent AI 2️⃣ Waterfall Personalization to make sure each message hits home 3️⃣ If you’re going to use AI, rewrite your messaging with Twain.ai or Claude.ai to focus on value and connection, and remove “spammy” words or phrases 4️⃣ Keep backup email accounts warmed up and ready 5️⃣ Follow a Warm Outreach playbook using strategies like intent signals, engagement rates or multi-channel signals B2B cold emails are often bland, templated, and irrelevant, so if you’re doing high-quality outreach and following all best practices, this shouldn’t affect your day-to-day. So, is anyone nervous about these changes? 😬 Let me know below 👇

I've sent millions of cold emails and launched thousands of campaigns with 50M+ prospects targeted. Here are the biggest lessons I’ve learned from sending so many cold emails: ➡️ It’s a long game. Results may not be immediate. You may not see tons of replies on your first campaign… and that’s normal The harsh truth... you may not even book a meeting on your first few campaigns Cold email is about learning what works, refining your message, and nurturing those relationships. Stick with it. ➡️ Templated emails fall flat Loading up a template to launch thousands of emails can feel exciting, but it’s extremely difficult to get canned emails to connect with real people Write your messages so that your cold emails feel personal as if they were written specifically for that one person ➡️ The right subject line can make an email SOAR 🦜 I can’t stress this enough: subject lines are critical Don’t reinvent the wheel—an effective subject line is short, clear, and gets the recipient to simply click and open (This does NOT mean clickbait) The body of your email won’t matter if they never open it ➡️ Transparency builds trust Sharing insights or results from past clients can make a big impact, just make sure you’re not bragging (no one likes a showoff) Be honest about what you can and can’t do—prospects respect the truth Transparency builds credibility quickly ➡️ Follow-ups are EVERYTHING Most of our opportunities come from following up and almost all our deals are closed in follow up stages too Space out your follow-ups and use multiple channels to check-in Keep in mind that there’s a huge difference between a “follow-up” and being pushy Do everything you can to make your follow ups genuine and don't start them with "just following up" ➡️ Engaging on LinkedIn can help get a response Create multi-channel touchpoints by following up with a LinkedIn connection request or a DM Engage with your prospects’ posts, leave comments—it’ll keep you top of mind People are more likely to respond when they feel like they know you ➡️ Don’t play it too safe with your copy Boring emails = zero engagement Take risks, be bold, and inject some personality into your outreach If you’re not standing out, you’re blending in (and getting ignored) ➡️ Cold calls complement cold emails perfectly Follow up your email engagement with a phone call (remember that point about multi-channel touchpoints?) Give them a ring as soon as they open your email or click on a link This combo has been a game-changer for booking meetings Cold email is a powerful tool for building sales pipeline, but it takes time. If you continually tweak your approach and stick with it, you’ll find out what works best for you and book way more meetings. 🦜 p.s. - if you’re struggling with your cold email outreach, shoot me a DM and we’ll get you set up on Parakeet 🦜
