Established in 1927, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is charged with collecting and distributing most of the tax monies due to the commonwealth. The scope of services and programs provided by the department affect every business and citizen in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The department is responsible for administering the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s tax programs and services. This includes collecting most tax levies, as well as various fees, fines and other monies due the commonwealth. The department also supervises the administration and collection of monies for the first and second class county sales tax and various special funds. For assistance with the personal income tax, please call 717-787-8201. Business owners or representatives can call 717-787-1064 for assistance. The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue had the chance to tour the Lancaster CRIZ and see what kind of projects are helping to revitalize the city. This tour started at the Southern Market Lancaster with a presentation from Mayor Danene Sorace and Lancaster City Alliance. The tour took us downtown to celebrated local restaurants, and the renovated, modernized Lancaster Public Library. This included future project sites and improved locations like the Marriott. We ended the Lancaster CRIZ tour at Clipper Magazine Stadium, home of the Lancaster Stormers. The final stop was a peek at the Lancaster Silverball skybox, overlooking the new turf field at the stadium.
