Partnership for Growth LA was co-founded in 2020 by the Boards of McCarty Memorial Christian Church and Jewish Center for Justice. Partnership for Growth LA’s mission as a Black/Jewish community development corporation partnership is to catalyze generational community wellness and cooperative development among South and West LA. PFGLA works to do so through effective and replicable systems of addressing food insecurity and economic development.

  • 🎓 On Friday, October 25th, PFGLA held a graduation celebration for our THIRD Project Jubilee cohort! Jubilants completed a 12-week tailored program complete with life skills classes and workforce development training. 📜 Each graduate received a certificate for completing the program. Several even stayed after the event to work on their resumes. 👏 We are so proud of each and every one of our Jubilants, and wish them the best of luck in this next phase of life! #workforcetraining #careerdevelopment #projectjubilee

  • Congratulations to PFGLA founding board member and California Assembly Member Tina McKinnor, who has been named Chair of the Select Committee on the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games! 🌟 Tina will be leading hearings next year, working closely with the LA28 team to focus on small business opportunities and job creation.   • 🌱 Exciting News! 🌱 PFGLA is thrilled to announce a new partnership with SEED - Sustainable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development, an innovative AgTech (Agriculture Technology) startup based in South LA! SEED has developed a groundbreaking handheld soil testing sensor that provides farmers with real-time data on soil health and respiration. This game-changing tech has already helped urban farmers in South LA and Pacoima remediate soils impacted by contaminants like lead and oil. This fall, five of our Freedom Farms grant recipients will take part in SEED’s paid pilot program! Over the next six weeks, they’ll use the sensor to test their soil, receiving insights and recommendations on how to improve soil health and productivity.
