What an epic week in Singapore 🔥 The hard work with the 2024 edition of the non-profit Patent Olympiad has culminated in a very successful competition with the highest number of competitors from various countries and continents. Our team comprising Dr Nigel S. Clarke , Linus Wretblad , Cathy Chiba and Guido Moradei was hosted this year by Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and supported by World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO , The Lens , LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions , PatentSight - A LexisNexis Company, Clarivate, Questel, Ambercite - AI powered patent searching, NGB Corporation and Amplified, as well as ISBQPIP. Beyond the organizations, the people behind them giving their time, effort, patience and passion made both our competition, the IP Week conference and my personal stay in Singapore an outstanding experience. Loved in depth discussions about the #patent information profession with Alfred Yip, Eric Khoo and Rachel Koh, but also about great local food (the best!!) and sights. Meeting Daren Tang personally and getting his support and interest made our team very proud and further committed. Not all heroes wear capes. But at the Patent Olympiad, some of the best in the field do! 🦸🏼♀️🦸🏻 The Patent Olympiad 2024 has drawn to a spectacular close yesterday at IP week @ SG. This inaugural run in Asia was made possible through the exceptional leadership of Dr Nigel S. Clarke, Linus Wretblad, Andrea Davis, Cathy Chiba and Guido Moradei. Patent information professionals often work behind the scenes, yet their impact on businesses and society is profound. 💡Patent specialists conduct complex validity and freedom-to-operate searches that save companies millions. 💡Patent analysts extract actionable intelligence from patent data, guiding crucial R&D and commercial decisions. 💡And let's not forget patent examiners worldwide, including those at IPOS International who scour global prior art to grant patents that delicately balance inventors' rights with the public interests. As Zhikang Fu mentioned in a recent post, patent examiners are like Marvel superheroes with hyper-focus abilities. Indeed, they are superheroes in their own right.
