Driving efforts to ensure all people have access to high-value healthcare at a transparent and affordable price.

About us

The mission of Patients Rising is to drive efforts to ensure all people in the United States have access to high-value healthcare services and treatments with transparent and affordable pricing. Patients Rising provides people living with chronic and life-threatening illnesses with the information and services they need to best manage the access and affordability challenges they face. In 2020, Patients Rising launched Patients Rising Concierge. We're not the last stop on the road to solving your problems, but we're good at giving directions. At Patients Rising Concierge we research programs and services to help solve your problems, and teach you how to do the same. During the Coronavirus, many Americans came face to face with completely new challenges, like food insecurity, housing instability, loss of work and health insurance, or difficulty finding a safe place to get treatments for chronic diseases. The Concierge service was there to help by finding resources that could help those people on the local, state and federal level. For more information call the Patients Rising Concierge at 800-865-2654, email us at AskUsAnything@patientsrising.org, or visit www.patientsrising.org/get-help

In many states, lawmakers are weighing the possibility of introducing a “Prescription Drug Affordability Board” (PDAB). This board, composed of 'experts' tasked with regulating drug prices, might initially appear beneficial. However, it could have significant negative implications by empowering insurance companies to deny claims and reduce coverage for essential medications on an even greater scale. It is absolutely crucial for patients to actively oppose this legislation and urge lawmakers to reconsider and halt the progression of this bill. Is your state considering PDAB legislation? Explore our map below and stay informed about opportunities for advocacy📣 #PDABs #PatientEmpowerment #PrescriptionDrugAffordability

Charity care is meant to be a lifeline, but it's falling short for those who rely on it most. Millions of Americans are struggling to afford healthcare, but instead of channeling savings back into helping low-income or vulnerable patients, the funds end up benefiting hospitals in wealthy areas while underserved communities are left behind. Join us in our mission to make charity care truly charitable—sign our petition today! 🔸https://hubs.ly/Q02T08Ml0 #CharityCareReform #HealthcareForAll #PatientEmpowerment

Director at The Patient Helpline | Patient Advocate | Chronic Illness Patient

Cost of care continually increases. Medical debt doesn’t discriminate. Recently I spent 10 days inpatient in the hospital. I needed an ambulance to get there, and a slew of testing, and two small surgeries while there. I also needed expensive antibiotics when I was discharged to finish at home. I have good insurance coverage, and yet the cost I’m responsible for is still high. The average person doesn’t have a few thousand dollars sitting around to pay for the cost of care. Your health can’t wait. I couldn’t push off going to the hospital. Having a blood infection can kill you, and there was no way I could allow the cost of care to stop me from getting what I need. After I’ve healed, I now have another burden to bear. This is why some put off care, and that can be deadly. You shouldn’t have to put your health at risk because the cost of care is too high. Something needs to change.

I know myself at the end of 2023 I was looking at what I cost to stay alive and I was over a million dollars for that year, and that was just the bare minimum to keep me breathing" Thank you to our favorite "Million Dollar+" patient Samantha Sauer, BCPA, Director At The Patient Helpline, Patients Rising who joined us this year for the discussion! #CostOfCare #HealthCrisis #FamilyChoices #AffordableHealthcare #HealthcareAccess #FinancialStruggles #PersonalStory #LifeAndHealth #AdvocateSummit
