This is a little bit of clickbait but here goes... I neglected to celebrate my promotion Patreon last month - and since LinkedIn is counting my contractor time as part of my tenure here (wow, it's been 5 years total!) this feels like a good time to share the news and my current reflections on work. 🌟 Do something you're passionate about with good people. I spent my career prior to Patreon fostering relationships, building community, and raising money in the arts. Coming to a company that cares about creators was a no-brainer, especially when the company's core values brings others who feel the same way. 🌟 Work/life balance is a myth. Sometimes you've got more free time and sometimes you work a lot. PLAN VACATIONS AND UNPLUG! I just took two weeks off to hike the Dolomites with my dad in Italy and then spend a week exploring Portugal. I came back refreshed with a renewed interest in making sure I plan activities that feed me outside of work. 🌟 Speaking of... you probably have the capacity to take on more than you think. I've had a "side hustle" working on the founding team of The Space Program San Francisco residency program since 2018. I get to continue supporting my local creative community and work in a very different way than my day job. And if you're in the Bay on Oct 12 - we're having an open house! Come by and say hello.
