A little #MarineInnovation for your Monday: SeaTrac Systems, Inc. and Sonardyne International Ltd recently launched an uncrewed surface vessel (USV) from Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium and remotely piloted it 580 nautical miles to gather oceanographic data from Atlantic Ocean currents in the Gulf of Mexico. The solar- and battery-powered USV kept the project's costs and environmental impact low while navigating the gulf's challenging currents.
