Today we celebrated Dyslexia Awareness Day with a press conference at the PA State Capitol Main Rotunda. Yesterday SB 801 passed the House with a unanimous vote and will be brought for discussion and a second vote soon! We are thrilled with the movement on this bill. A huge thank you goes out to Rep. Jason Ortitay, Sens. Ryan Aument and Justin Fleming for their work on HB 998 and SB801 and their presence at the press conference today. We also thank our 3 Dyslexia Dignitaries who spoke passionately about their experience with dyslexia, as well as literacy and educational advocacy experts, Pam Kastner and Laura Boyce. Thank you to event coordinators, Jackie Behney, Rosette Roth, and Jessica McKee. Thank you to all the organizations who joined this year's Dyslexia Awareness Day Coalition! We are stronger together!
