About us
Our mission is to create awareness, raise funds, and to advocate for those affected by pancreatic cancer. With more awareness and more funded research, we can help there be more survivors. We are Creating Hope. Supporting a Cure. We are an all-volunteer group committed to creating awareness of this disease to help people understand the symptoms and risk factors. We are committed to raising money for much needed research that is way underfunded by the National Cancer Institute. We are also committed to providing families with the emotional support they need to remain strong in the fight…just as our members came together as strangers and ended up supportive friends. We continue to fight in memory of our angels and for the warriors currently in the battle. We stand with the families and loved ones to give them give hope and strength. We host a Golf Tournament in July to benefit research - it's held in memory of Michael F. Contestabile who lost is life to pancreatic cancer in 2009 at the age of 46 leaving behind a wife and three young children. Our signature fundraiser is Step It Up! Cure Pancreatic Cancer Indoor 5K & Family Fun Day. It's held every November in Rochester NY and attended by over 1,000 people. Proceeds support local pancreatic cancer research efforts.

Pancreatic Cancer has no routine early screening methods which makes it extremely difficult to detect which is why it is often detected in its late stages. Research is critical to developing screening methods and early detection. By supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Association of WNY you are helping advance research efforts.
