About us

Performance Contracting Inc. (PCI) is one of the leading specialty contractors in the United States. We provide more than 25 quality services and products to the industrial, commercial, and non-residential markets – from complex interior build-out services to large-scale insulation systems and scaffolding. This allows PCI to offer our customers diverse but related services, making PCI a true "single-source" contractor for many customers. We are proud to say that our selective hiring process and active recruiting methods have produced an incredible team of overachievers. We now employ more than 8,900 people across the U.S. Ranked by ENR Magazine, as of December 2021: #1 – Top Wall and Ceiling Contractors in the U.S. #13 – Top Specialty Contractors in the U.S. #8 – Top Asbestos Abatement Contractors in the U.S. PCI is the largest subsidiary of Performance Contracting Group (PCG). PCG was formed in February 1987 when the 40-year-old contracting division was purchased from Owens Corning Fiberglas by several existing employees. Since then, PCG's reputation for "providing value that exceeds customers’ expectations" has warranted our significant growth. PCG is employee-owned and has 60+ offices throughout the United States. • Foremen from across our branches recently came together for our Foreman Conference, focusing on essential topics like building a strong safety culture, creating great teams, improving job site culture, and using better communication tools. Marco Castaneda, a foreman from PCI Vancouver PAS, highlighted the value of the experience: "It's invaluable to get into these rooms with guys that have less experience than me, a year more than me, 20 years more than me, because everybody has something to offer. You can only grow from there and then add new tools to your tool bag." Thank you to all the attendees and trainees for making this Foreman Conference a great one! 🏗️⚙️ #PCIproud #Teamwork #Foreman

  • PCI is excited to be actively participating in the Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA) through the University of Colorado Boulder College of Engineering & Applied Science. By providing sites for data collection in Denver and Phoenix, we’ve been able to contribute valuable insights to the Safety Return on Investment project. Our efforts, combined with the analysis expertise of PhD researchers, are helping to shape new approaches to safety in the construction industry. We’re particularly focused on refining training methods and improving hazard and risk reduction through targeted, environment-specific education. Chris Osterhout, PCI Regional Safety Manager, shared his enthusiasm for the ongoing work: "While I’m offering my insights, I’m also learning a bunch the faculty and Construction Safety Research Alliance member-company participants. I'm very proud to be a small part of a great team hoping to make a positive impact in the construction safety world." We’re eager to see the positive changes that will come from this collaborative effort! 🦺🧠 #PCIproud #ConstructionSafetyResearch #CSRAResearch #ConstructionSafety #SafetyInnovation

  • At PCI, we proudly celebrate those who embody our Core Values with the "People First Award." 🏆 From PCI Des Moines, John Edwards, John Franklin, Jason Pratt, and Kenneth Tigner showed incredible bravery when a colleague became unresponsive in an elevated scissor lift. Acting quickly, they performed an emergency descent, contacted 911, and assisted in the rescue, ensuring their coworker received life-saving care. We commend their quick thinking and dedication to Safety! 🚑🦺 Kenny Haase from PCI San Diego went above and beyond after a team member suffered a serious 10-foot fall. Kenny stayed at the hospital until it was clear the employee would be admitted and continued to visit him at home during recovery, maintaining regular contact. His unwavering support highlights his deep commitment to Employee Success and Well-Being. Thank you, Kenny, for your exceptional care! 🤝❤️ Our Compensation & Benefits team has faced ongoing challenges due to a software update that slowed down payroll processing. For over five months, Cassie Healy, Jodi Oakley, Rick Parrett, and Janeen Shaffer have taken turns staying late every Monday night, working diligently, sometimes till well-past midnight, to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time. Their dedication to Quality and Customer Alignment, despite the extended hours, is truly commendable. Thank you for your relentless effort! 💻⏰ PCI Portland’s, Tucker Crone acted heroically when he discovered an unconscious worker from another trade pinned in a single-man lift. Tucker quickly coordinated a call to 911, accessed the lift from another entrance, and managed to free the worker, who began breathing again. His decisive actions likely saved a life, showcasing his strong commitment to Safety. We’re grateful for his quick response! 🚑💪 #PCIproud #peoplefirst #safety #quality #employeesuccessandwellbeing #customeralignment
