When it comes to cybersecurity, more tools don’t necessarily mean better protection. It’s not about how many tools you have—it’s about having the right strategy. Piling on more software can lead to overlap, inefficiencies, or even gaps in your defenses. Instead, the focus should be put on building a cohesive cybersecurity plan that directly addresses your business’s unique risks, ensuring each tool works together effectively. Unsure which solutions are essential for your organization? Contact PCI and we’ll help you build a smart, streamlined security strategy that truly protects your business.

Phishing scams aren’t as obvious as they used to be. It’s no longer just about poorly written emails from unknown senders—today’s phishing attacks are sophisticated, highly targeted, and hard to spot. These scams often exploit trust, urgency, and the impulse to act quickly on seemingly important messages. That’s why staying vigilant is more critical than ever. Training your team to recognize the subtle signs of phishing and using advanced email security tools are essential steps to protect your business. PCI offers a Security Awareness Training program for your employees to boost their ability to identify and prevent phishing attacks.

Relying on just one tool, like antivirus software, isn’t enough to protect your business from today’s cyber threats. It’s like locking a vault with a single padlock—effective until something more sophisticated comes along. To truly safeguard your business, you need a multi-layered cybersecurity approach. Think of it as building defenses with multiple barriers—if one fails, the others keep you protected. Firewalls, encryption, multi-factor authentication, regular software updates, and employee training all play a crucial role in fortifying your defenses. PCI not only has services dedicated specifically to security, but security is a focal point within all of our services and solutions to defend from threats in every direction.

Cybersecurity Alert: American Water Works Cyber-Attack Highlights Urgency for Protection On Monday, American Water Works, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., experienced a cybersecurity breach that forced the company to shut down certain systems, including customer billing. This attack is a sobering reminder of the critical need to protect our infrastructure. As it’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month, this is the perfect time to reassess your organization’s readiness for a cyberattack. Prevention is key—whether it’s securing customer data, safeguarding operational systems, or quickly responding to a breach. American Water Works did well to quickly shut down certain areas of their IT infrastructure to mitigate any damage, but the overall impact is still unknown. At PCI, we help businesses stay ahead of threats with our proactive, tailored cybersecurity solutions. Let’s talk about keeping your business secure and prepared! It’s easy to assume that cybercriminals only go after large organizations, but the truth is, small businesses are often seen as prime targets. Why? Because attackers know smaller companies typically have fewer defenses in place, making them easier to breach. Cybercriminals look for the path of least resistance, and without strong cybersecurity measures, your business could be next on their list. Protect your business by investing in robust security solutions that safeguard your data and reputation. Even a small business deserves strong protection. Looking for the right cybersecurity strategy? PCI's security team can guild your business to implement impactful cybersecurity solutions. #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #SmallBusiness #SECUREit

Cybersecurity isn’t just about protecting your business from outside attacks—it’s also about securing your business from the inside. While external threats grab most of the headlines, insider threats pose an equally dangerous risk. Whether it’s a disgruntled employee intentionally causing harm or someone unknowingly mishandling sensitive data, these threats can slip under the radar, leading to serious financial and reputational damage. The key to mitigating insider risk? A proactive approach. PCI offers security solutions that train your team, enforce strict access controls, and create a culture of accountability. Don’t overlook the dangers within—secure your business from all angles. #CyberSecuirtyAwarenessMonth #InsiderThreats #SECUREit

Last weekend's Walk to End Alzheimer's at Buffalo's Outer Harbor was another successful event for the Alzheimer's Association WNY! Many of those within PCI's organization have been personally effected by Alzheimer's disease, so the event holds a place close to our hearts. PCI has long been a proud sponsor of the Alzheimer's Association and we are consistently amazed and encouraged by the willingness of those to give time, money, and resources to help the search for a cure. We would like to thank to Jaime and all others for their contributions to the Association, and we hope that one day we can look back at events like these as a crucial step toward the eradication of Alzheimer's and other dementias. #WalkToEndAlzheimers #WalkForACure #LetsWinTogether #CommunityImpact

This past weekend, I had the honor of participating in the Buffalo Walk to End Alzheimer's at Terminal B. As someone who has seen the effects of Alzheimer’s firsthand, this cause means so much to me, and I am proud to support it every year. It’s heartening to see the recent breakthroughs in treatment for the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease—progress that offers real hope to millions of families. While there’s still a long way to go, these advances remind us that together, we can make a difference. A huge thank you to everyone at PCI for your support in this important cause, and to the Alzheimer's Association WNY for organizing such a powerful event. Whether you joined us for the walk, donated, or supported in other ways, your contributions are invaluable and will help us move closer to a future without Alzheimer’s. Every step, every dollar, and every moment of awareness matters. Let’s keep fighting for a world where Alzheimer’s is just a memory. #endalz #Walk2EndAlz #AlzheimersAwareness #CommunityImpact
