This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to dive deep into the real estate world through my internship at Pearson Realty Group. The experience allowed me to explore the entire real estate process from multiple angles, including collaborating with agents on the brokerage side and understanding the intricacies of listing, selling, and closing deals. I also delved into commercial investment analysis, where I created ProFormas using CoStar/MLS to evaluate the potential for redevelopment in distressed properties. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience in the REO business, working with asset managers from Fannie Mae, Xome, and other banks to bring foreclosure properties back on the market. Ordering and reviewing real estate titles also became a regular part of my role, ensuring smooth and compliant transactions for every deal.
A special shoutout to Kirby Pearson and Amila M. for mentoring me in the REO department. From penthouses to long-vacant properties, we tackled countless foreclosures across the city, working to revitalize and reintroduce them to the market.
Thank you to Jenny Farney for sharing your expertise on the brokerage side and teaching me the ins and outs of working with agents, creating their disbursement statements, reviewing executed contracts, and navigating the MLS.
