515 West 18th Street, otherwise known as The Lantern House is an impeccable pair of buildings designed by Thomas Heatherwick at SLCE Architects. Located in Chelsea, New York the two structures are 10 and 22-stories with the majority of the space used for residential units along with some retail space. What stands out the most on this project are the beautiful signature sculptural windows adorn around the two buildings (https://lnkd.in/gYv6npzg). Throughout the exterior of the building, Pecora 890NST was applied between the window frame and the brick façade joints. The color, Aluminum Stone was selected to match the cladding on the building. Specified for the project by SLCE Architects, Kings County Waterproofing installed the sealant in approximately 30,000 linear feet of joint space. As a part of the industry’s first and only complete line of non-staining silicones, Pecora 890NST does not contain the fluids that stain, effectively eliminating staining and residue rundown. This will help to not only seal the building from the elements, but also maintain the beauty and integrity of The Lantern House for years to come. #PecoraProtects #DontStainYourReputation

Air and vapor barrier systems have been to know to be some of the most challenging substrates to adhere to. Because of this, glazing contractors rely on Pecora Sealants to perform in these difficult applications. Pecora AVB Silicone Sealant’s ability to adhere to some of these obscure substrates is why the product was chosen for the new Continental Tire Headquarters in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Pecora AVB Silicone was used to weatherseal the window perimeters of the building and was applied between the window frame and exterior wall membrane. Pecora AVB Silicone is a single component 100% silicone sealant designed for air vapor barrier surface transitions and as a joint sealant for difficult to adhere to surfaces. AC-20® FTR is a unique acrylic latex sealant that is UL® Classified in firestopping systems for expansion joints and through penetrations. When properly installed, these systems effectively contain fire, smoke, toxic fumes, and water within a given area surrounded by firewalls for a two, three, or four hour period, depending on the design specifications. This product exhibits excellent adhesive, flexibility and durability qualities that make AC-20® FTR ideal for insulating and weatherproofing around windows, doors, panels, siding, duct work, base plates, etc. It is compatible with all common building materials including specialties such as polystyrene, polyurethane, cork, vinyl (not for use on cpvc), foamed and fibrous glass. Used as an acoustical sealant, AC-20® FTR reduces sound transmission in partition systems to maintain specific STC values by sealing spaces around cut-outs and at perimeters of partitions. The sealant cures to a tough rubber to form a long-lasting acoustical seal. #PecoraProtects #ProductOfTheMonth

A critical aspect of a successful traffic coating application is obtaining adequate coating adhesion to the substrate. Field adhesion tests are performed to determine if sufficient adhesion can be achieved or if the surface requires special preparation. Field adhesion tests should be performed on representative surfaces before substantial work has commenced. In Washington D.C. a Quantitative Traffic Coating Field Pull Off Adhesion Test was performed on a parking garage. The test was performed prior to the coating application for surface and primer requirements. For this particular test, an Elcometer 106 Adhesion Tester was used. To learn more about how to perform this test, please visit our website to read out Tech Bulletin on the subject https://lnkd.in/e7cJ8sPX #PecoraProtects #ProtectYourInvestment
