Pediatric Executive Development System
Hospitals and Health Care
This group provides a platform for pediatric CEOs, Founders, Leaders, and Executive Physicians to share ideas.
About us
The group includes some of the most talented physicians in pediatrics today, such as George Rogu, MD, CPE, MBA, who leads a super-group in Long Island that includes two pediatric urgent cares. Herbert Bravo, MD, writes about pediatric management on Substack, co-hosts TPL podcast, and has started and led three pediatric-focused ventures. Kathleen Wania is a national speaker on compassion and the founder of Greece Pediatric Medicine, PLLC. Industry leaders also join us to improve our services. As a social impact and to ensure that the next generation of children in the USA can access care, we offer a scholarship to a three- or four-year medical student interested in pediatric management and leadership. The group provides a platform for pediatric CEOs, Founders, Leaders, and Executive Physicians to share ideas, processes, and resources to help each other grow. Members can discuss financial management, strategic planning, marketing, operations, patient care, and other relevant topics. The group also serves as a forum for members to discuss their successes and challenges and collaborate and network.

It is time to change the way we do things in #pediatrics and ensure the specialty survives to serve many more children. We have an #access crisis and lack of #payment. https://lnkd.in/eMcdxZvh

So, it is with great pride and joy that I want to share this picture. Dr.Brian Birch is a #young #leader in #pediatrics, and he #walksthetalk. Could you take a look at his first annual report? Every child older than 11 years of age is screened for #suicide at every visit, and he measures it. He holds himself accountable and shows wisdom, humility, compassion, and #passion. Like true leaders, he stands on the shoulders of others to see and share the #vision and then gives credit to the community that lent their shoulder. The American Academy of Pediatrics calls for #medicaid for all #children in their policy statement, plenary session, and lobbying efforts supporting such bill in the #ussenta . It is refreshing to see #pediatricians with a little more responsible solutions. Medicaid is #broken , it covers 40% of expectant #mothers and 50% of our #children. In #virginia, it pays 50% of Medicare, and in #NY, 45% if you are not a medical home. That is why hospitals in Baltimore, Atlanta, Manassas, Virginia, and Long Island, NY, are closing peds EDs, Peds Wards, and Maternity Care and divesting their corporate-owned pediatric practices. Let us unite and be responsible in our words and actions for the betterment of the Country and Our Children. Brian Birch John Sutter

International Medical Graduates do a great job in many areas of medicine in the #USA. However, there is also a downside: higher-paying jobs here drain the brain talent in lower-development countries. This article addresses some of the benefits and barriers but does not speak of the discrimination that is part of the US Medical Education System against non-US Medical School Graduates. Until we find a way to pay more for primary care in diverse locations, few things will make a change. Mid-level, IMGs, US Med, and DO School graduates will gravitate to better-paying jobs. Many of us #love Amazon and Costco because we pay less for the same product; the markets favor actions in our best interest. https://lnkd.in/eWfmwnvZ

We have always been of the opinion that healthcare is expensive because it is about #relationships and #local. Apple can manage costs by building the #iPhone in #China. The cost of office space, support staff, and sometimes wasteful regulations such as the #ABMS #MOC, as well as the cost of educating physicians, can't be managed by outsourcing to China or Mexico. Wonderful ideas were shared about the state of the #US #healthcare #finance system and the lack of quality outcomes. Ideas like #medicaid for all children are likely to add to poor outcomes by limiting access and competition. https://lnkd.in/eQk6qwsD
