  • We are humbled by the dedication and leadership of Pennsylvania's K-12 teachers and administrators, as witnessed at our inaugural K-12 Sustainability Summit last week. We are also so grateful to KnowledgeWorks' Anna Russo for facilitating our attendees as they envisioned their learners of today and their learners of the future to find a vision forward for sustainability education across Pennsylvania. We are excited to continue this partnership with this first cohort of 20 schools and with Penn State Outreach and its K-12 Engagement Network throughout this next year!

  • Excited to start Day 2 of our inaugural K-12 Sustainability Summit today out at Penn State's Shaver's Creek. Such an awesome opportunity to build connections and partnerships between the 20 school districts from across PA attending and the many Penn State units eager to support the Commonwealth's schools in their sustainability journeys. Already, we've seen the wheels turning on Day 1, as our attendees saw everything from "Insect Hotels" and agricultural curricula to ways Penn State's Facilities Engineering Institute can consult on installing solar for schools.

  • It's Indigenous Peoples Day. Penn State has a whole lineup of activities to celebrate the occasion (https://lnkd.in/eh3jF9EJ). At Penn State Sustainability, we're honored to be celebrating this week with a screening on Wednesday, October 16, at 7 p.m. (EDT) online of "Newtok." This urgent documentary profiles the efforts of an Indigenous community in Alaska losing feet of shoreline daily to sea level rise, losing homes and lives as a result. But this community is determined to remain resilient and fight back. Learn how and join us for a post-film panel featuring Penn State faculty and staff experts. Register to join us at: https://lnkd.in/ebv9bucV.
