Congratulations to Penn Tank Lines, Inc. on 50 years of tank truck industry success! The family-owned bulk hauler plans to celebrate the milestone throughout September: Penn Tank celebrates 50 years of ‘SAFE’ service Penn Tank Lines, a bulk transporter headquartered in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, is commemorating its 50th anniversary with celebrations planned throughout September, including during American Trucking Associations’ National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, which is scheduled for Sept. 15-21. Jack McSherry, who now serves as chairman, founded Penn Tank as a gas hauler in 1974 in Philadelphia. Today, the carrier operates 500 trucks delivering a range of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel, which the company grew in 2020 and 2021 with the acquisitions of Stardust Transportation, Jet Star, and CD Hallock Trucking that moved the business into Indiana, South Carolina, and Texas. Penn Tank, which also hauls food-grade products, ISO tanks, and flatbed trailers, now services customers across two-thirds of the U.S. from more than 30 terminals.
