People Loving Nashville is grounded in four pillars—Relief, Community, Connection, and Restoration—that guide our mission to bring purpose, peace, and rest to our unhoused neighbors and those newly housed. This month, we’re highlighting our Restoration program, which supports individuals after they receive housing, helping them build life skills, set goals, access jobs, and heal in mind, body, and soul. Our goal is to assist 15 people through this holistic journey, which takes an average of 12 weeks and $3,500 per participant. The truth is, lasting change happens when neighbors take responsibility for helping one another. Your support can directly change the trajectory of someone's life, giving them the chance to heal and thrive. Will you take that step today and help someone in need find peace, purpose, and restoration? https://lnkd.in/euN-DKUH

About us
People Loving Nashville (PLN) focuses on the healing power of community. We are a grassroots organization whose goal is to bring relief to those in need in the form of food, drink, clothing, and emergency supplies. Through our numerous, growing programs and outreaches, we seek to form relationships and offer long-lasting support for the most vulnerable of our city. We have three programs that build off each other and within our programs we have multiple outreaches for people to join us by volunteering. Our Street Program - Includes our outreach team daily visiting friends in encampments and our Monday street outreach. We believe in going to our friends, instead of making someone come to us. This program is where we identify those ready to start their journey from homelessness to homefulllness. Our Homefullness Program - This is a housing-first approach program. We have a team of outreach workers who walk the journey of getting a friend off the streets and into housing. This journey on average takes six months to one year. We have additional outreaches throughout the week to provide additional support to a newly housed individual. Our Restoration Program - This program is holistically created to serve the body, mind, and soul of our friends recently housed. We recognize the trauma they have faced and through strategic partnerships provide therapy, recovery classes, and low-barrier job opportunities. Our Outreaches: Within all of our outreaches, we bring relief starting with food, clothing, and community. As we create a safe and consistent community environment we work to build bridges to further resources from IDs to housing navigation. Our outreaches are Monday Night Street Outreach, our largest outreach. Tuesday + Thursday Homefullness Outreaches, Wednesday Encampement Outreach, and Wednesday + Friday Restoration Outreaches. Learn more about our programs and outreaches by visiting our website.

Our Monday Night gathering in August was jam-packed with activity! We brought out the popsicles every night to try and beat the heat. Thankfully, we were joined by the King of Pops Nashville last Monday to help ward off the ferocious heat. We celebrated the last few days of summer with a big block party with delicious burgers by Cledis Burgers & Beer Garden. Every week, we were joined by our fearless partners at Shower Up Nashville and The Laundry Stop! Their regular presence on Mondays has been invaluable for the community. Thank you to Capitol Christian Music Group for choosing to spend the last Monday in August with us on their volunteer day! We greatly appreciate your involvement! We sincerely appreciate the commitment and generosity of our amazing PLN community. Your ongoing support—through volunteering, donations, and prayers—has made a real impact this month: 2,733 Meals were prepared and delivered 2,597 Units of clothing were chosen and distributed 104 Connections to Resources were provided on Monday night. Thank you, each and every one of you, for all that you do! Here's to September!

"These are the days, these are the days These are the days we've been dreamin' of So don't look away 'cause these are the days These are the days; better get 'em while they come We thought we'd never see the sun through the dark skies But all the signs are sayin' it's lookin' up." These ARE the days. Here and now. These are the days. God is at hand in this place. It may not look shiny and fresh to some, but it is hallowed ground. War Memorial was our Paradise, and now this spot down by the river is becoming a deep well—a meeting ground for all to gather here and find rest. We would love for you to be a part of the PLN community. If you've ever considered joining us, Fall is the perfect time! Click the link below for more information. https://lnkd.in/emjjqgF6

"Systems change when people change, and people change when they feel truly cherished." Father Greg Boyle This truth highlights the profound power of love and kindness in transforming individuals and the world. We all have walls built from shame, regret, or past hurts—barriers that can make us feel isolated or unworthy. In heavy circumstances, people can sometimes feel barricaded behind a wall of shame or disgrace; the only way to break through is with extravagant tenderness. When we remind others and ourselves that God loves us deeply, we offer a sense of worth that can penetrate even the most fortified defenses. It's about the small, often overlooked moments of kindness. Those moments contribute to the larger change we wish to see. In our busy lives, it's easy to overlook these small interruptions or brush aside insignificant moments. However, it's crucial to recognize that these seemingly small interactions are actually opportunities to practice kindness. We can approach everyone with a spirit of extravagant kindness with each person we meet. Through genuine love and tender care, we can transform hearts and, in turn, slowly change the systems around us for the better. 💖✨
