At Pepco, we're excited to announce $700k grants available to businesses that are addressing the critical issue of food deserts in our community. In Ward 7, there is not vast access to fresh, healthy food, that offers the nutrition families need. This lack of access contributes to long-term health disparities and economic challenges. Pepco's Energizing Small Business grants program will provide eight grants, to small businesses that will provide access to fresh produce and food-related products in the following District neighborhoods: Parkside/Mayfair, Marshall Heights, Carver-Langston, River Terrace, Kingman Park, Eastland/Kenilworth and Deanwood. Interested businesses can apply now through October 11 at https://lnkd.in/eaEtFabQ. Selected businesses will each receive more than $74,000. #Pepcoenergizingsmallbusinessgrants

Building a sustainable future for our community starts with improved access to #ElectricVehicle chargers, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this transition. Our team helped install 200 chargers across Maryland, making it easier for drivers to switch to electric. New chargers mean faster, more convenient charging, and a healthier environment for everyone to enjoy. As more drivers make the switch, we’re #DrivingChange in achieving our state’s climate goals and building a more resilient energy grid along the way. #WorldEVDay

Such preparation is vital to ensure reliability, encourage sustainability and maintain economic stability. “Even as we encourage our customers to be more efficient with their energy, we too are doing that,” said Valencia McClure, the region president for Pepco. On #811Day, we’re reminding customers and communities that safety begins with a simple call. Whether you're planning a DIY project or a commercial venture, it’s crucial to dial 811 before you dig. Striking an underground utility line can lead to severe consequences, from injury to service disruptions. By calling 811, you connect with Miss Utility, ensuring that professionals mark the location of underground lines before you start your project. Let’s commit to safe digging practices—every dig, every time. Learn more about how to stay safe: http://spr.ly/6047YSIqX
