This week, in honor of World Gratitude Day, September 21st, Perry County Memorial Hospital CEO, Jared Stimpson challenged hospital staff to fill out a "Gratitude Day" worksheet. Asking them to list, draw, or post photos of everything that each staff member is grateful for. Friday, administration rounded and took photos of several of them to help promote what makes us all happy! We work in an amazing hospital with some wonderful people and this week it showed. All of those smiles translate into amazing patient care delivery for our community!

This month we rolled out a new employee appreciation and recognition program for Perry County Memorial Hospital employees. We have two awards: The Daisy Award, which is a national program that recognizes a star employee in nursing, but we also created The Lily Award to recognize outstanding non-nurse employees as well. We are very excited to be able to offer these awards to our star employees and thank them for going above and beyond as it relates to patient care at PCMH!

We held another amazing Leadership Development Retreat at the Christmas Lake golf club in Santa Claus, Indiana on Thursday. The theme for this training was centered around Human Resources and Talent Management. We were so grateful for our guest speakers, Melinda Lebofsky (CHRO Deaconess Health System), Katie King (Site Director, Ivy Tech Community College), and Lin Shannon (Employment & Labor Attorney at Fine & Hatfield). Also thank you to our very own HR Director Cayla Meyer, SHRM-SCP who led our leadership team through understanding our own management styles! Although the Air Conditioning went out on us and we had to cut the day a little short, we still were able to have a very effective offsite learning day! Thank you to everyone who came and helped us become better leaders for the patients we serve!

Autumn and Katie were wonderful to have on our hospital campus and we all wish them the best of luck in whatever they choose to do next!
