Please join us on November 13th at White's of Westport in Westport, MA, as we continue to kick off the Smarter New England Energy campaign to combat the Clean Heat Standard. The PGANE MA Legislative Committee in conjunction with the PGANE Marketing committee and Consumer Focus have developed a plethora of marketing materials that we will go through and teach you how to easily use these in your own company. We will also be joined by both Bill Malloy, our lobbyist for Massachusetts, and Christopher Boyle, our lobbyist for Rhode Island who will be giving us an update on everything that is happening in both MA and RI. There is a lot to discuss. Register here: https://lnkd.in/e-24FDxW.

About us
The Propane Gas Association of New England is a trade association representing nearly 750 members who sell propane or propane related appliances and equipment in all New England States. We exist to serve the propane industry by promoting safety, education and public awareness of the uses of propane. Our membership includes the nation's largest propane companies and many small companies who are often family owned and operated, many for several generations. Regular communication with our membership, ongoing educational offerings, and advocacy in the six state capitals for business friendly legislation which continues to promote public and employee safety are some of our regular activities. We meet several times each year and are run by a board of directors consisting of 25 of our members. Our small staff of four full-time associates work diligently to provide value to our members and the general public. We often field questions and direct members and consumers to the appropriate sources for help if we cannot help them ourselves. We are here to be your resource for everything propane!

This Virginia school district has operated low-cost, low-emission propane buses for seven years. The district's technician says, “The buses are very quiet, and there are fewer emissions and fewer breakdowns.” One of the district's school bus drivers reports, “The bus handles well and travels smoothly. It’s so quiet that, at first,I wasn’t sure if it was running. Plus, the noise level from students has greatly decreased.” Read the full case study here: https://bit.ly/47n3CU4 Blue Bird Corporation Newport News Public Schools

Propane is a reliable, non-toxic, low-carbon heating source, but it has been excluded from the Clean Heat Standard, a climate policy from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection seeking to limit heating emissions through costly, inefficient forced electrification. This policy will severely impact families relying on propane with: ❌ No feasible heating choice ❌ Unaffordable energy bills ❌ Costly equipment replacements Help us inform state officials that propane is already a viable, clean heating option. Visit SmarterNEenergy.org to urge your local officials to include propane in the Clean Heat Standard! https://lnkd.in/ebZYVdup

The weather is getting colder which means it’s time to start winter weather propane prepping. ⛄️ Keep the steps below in mind to achieve maximum safety this season. 1️⃣ Have your propane tank filled before the cold weather arrives. 2️⃣ Make sure you have enough propane. Talk to your propane provider about keep-full plans. If you’re responsible for monitoring your propane supply, check the gauge on the tank regularly and call your provider before the propane level gets too low. 3️⃣ If you run out of propane, call your propane provider immediately. Your propane provider or qualified service technician will need to inspect your system before turning the gas back on. 4️⃣ Keep outdoor vents, chimneys, and flues clear of snow, ice, and debris. 5️⃣ Never use outdoor appliances indoors. Keep grills, generators, and patio heaters outdoors. #WednesdayWisdom #EnergyforEveryone

#ThrowbackThursday to our 2024 Annual Meeting last week in Portsmouth, NH! We would first like to thank all of the attendees who came and contributed to the wealth of information shared during our two days in Portsmouth. The participation of our members plays a key role in the success of these meetings. Thank you as well to Ryan Jackson, Troy Phillips, and Evan Bonney for taking part in our Emergency Response panel. In sharing personal anecdotes and important emergency response tips, all 3 panelists shared invaluable information with the group on how best to keep everyone in and around our industry safe. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ryan Jackson, our now Immediate Past Chair, for his monumental contributions to PGANE throughout all 4 years he has served on the board. This past year, Ryan spearheaded an important initiative aimed at getting and keeping new generations engaged in the industry. With the introduction of the nextGEN Engaged group, Ryan's idea has laid the foundation for a thriving opportunity to encourage the new minds of the industry to get involved and continue to better the industry throughout their lengthy careers. We are extremely excited we get to keep Ryan on board as Immediate Past Chair and for him to continue to be “engaged” with his idea. Thank you Ryan! 👏 Our last thank you goes out to our new 2025 Chair, Chris Kowalski! Chris has served on the board for the last 3 years and in his time has encouraged important initiatives and shared invaluable expertise about the industry and PGANE. We are beyond excited to see all that Chris will accomplish in the next year as Chair and know he will contribute immensely to the success of the association. October 21-25 is National School Bus Safety Week, and propane-powered buses are a smart choice for a safer, cleaner, and more reliable ride to school. Propane school buses significantly reduce harmful emissions compared to diesel models, and help school districts avoid the costly infrastructure and range anxiety that come with electric buses.
