At Phlow, we're passionate about building healthier communities by providing not only life-changing medicine but also life-saving skills. Recently, Phlow’s CEO, Eric Edwards, MD, PhD, and his family were inspired by a CPR training initiative at L.C. Bird High School in Chesterfield County. To support this important program, they've donated over 140 American Heart Association (AHA) CPR kits to help equip students with these essential skills. “It’s the first line of defense and treatment to prevent death. Getting hands on the chest and performing high-quality CPR until definitive care arrives is critical,” explains Dr. Edwards, a volunteer paramedic in Chesterfield, who understands firsthand the importance of empowering communities with CPR knowledge. This week, Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response Dawn O’Connell, joined Senator Tim Kaine and Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan for a tour of Phlow Corp., a company that is establishing continuous manufacturing capabilities to produce active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) with support from ASPR. Phlow’s continuous manufacturing process uses technologies that can boost product quality and lower environmental impacts.  ASPR’s Office of Industrial Base Management and Supply Chain invested more than $325 million to develop domestic production capabilities for active pharmaceutical ingredients. Phlow is a part of ASPR’s portfolio that is helping expand the country’s domestic manufacturing capabilities, reducing our nation’s reliance on imports, and enabling us to foster innovation and job creation here at home.
