Filled with games, prizes, awards and more, our Joplin team had a blast hosting Fall Inservice for our amazing field staff!

Karen Shine and Heather Worrell from St. Louis participated in River Crossing’s, No-Fall Festival. The festival included food trucks, raffles, vendors, entertainment, and fall prevention and education. We love the opportunity to connect with our local communities!

Meet Brandi, an LPN from our Wichita, KS region! We asked, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” Brandi replied with, “I love helping people! I spent a lot of my childhood being on the patient side of things, and saw first hand what the experience is like. The healthcare system can be tough to navigate, so I love being a voice and advocate for my patients and their families.” When we asked her, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” she told us, "I love private duty because I'm able to focus on a few patients as a whole, and give them the best care possible. And Phoenix takes care of not only their patients, but their employees as well, and that's hard to find!” Of our X Factor (an important element of our unique Phoenix values), Brandi says, "It means going above and beyond, to provide the very best care. Caring for both body and spirit, and patients/families as a whole. Working with passion and authenticity. And going to work everyday knowing you're being allowed to step into someones life and help improve it, and taking that seriously." Brandi tells us she recently got married in June! (Congrats!!🎉) She and her husband love taking their dog on walks, going on bike rides, and just spending time in the sun. She also loves having a morning cup of coffee and curling up with a good book in her spare time. Thank you for all of your hard work and your caring heart, Brandi!

Our Wichita Leadership enjoyed an extra jeans day by donating funds to Restoration Family Services. The funds raised will be used to provide Christmas gifts to foster children in RFS homes throughout Kansas.

Meet Jackie, an LPN from our St. Louis, MO region! We asked, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” Jackie replied with, “My passion is helping people in my community on their journey to optimize their health and wellness.” When we asked her, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” she told us, "Home care gives me a unique opportunity to help and assist patients to thrive in their home environment. Phoenix has a positive regional reputation. Their mission and goals align with my own.” Of our X Factor (an important element of our unique Phoenix values), Jackie says, "I appreciate knowing I am associated with an exceptional team. I value the relationships I can develop with my patients and their families. I enjoy using my experience and skillset to help prepare new employees to maximize their experience working at Phoenix." Outside of work, Jackie enjoys spending time with her dog, gardening, and crafting. She has a great passion for sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs ("I've been a fan, even when they were terrible"), and tells us that spending time with family is one of her greatest joys. Phoenix Home Care & Hospice Joplin spent yesterday morning at Wildwood Senior Living for their monthly Wellness Wednesday. The residents from independent living, assisted living, and memory care come to have their vitals checked and are provided some education on caregiver resources!

Meet Joele, a Registered Nurse from our Topeka, KS region! We asked, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” Joele replied with, “Seeing the patient light up when they see you, and the joy we bring, being a positive light when our patients are going through a tough time. Knowing that by simply doing what I love to do, I am helping heal patients mentally and physically.” When we asked her, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” she told us, "Caring for people in their home where they are most comfortable allows them to get what they need to accomodate their daily lives. Phoenix was an easy choice for me; when you walk in you are treated like family from the start. I love the small group of people we have. It allows us to work better as a team and give the patients the best care possible.” To anyone contemplating working at Phoenix, Joele says, "Go for it! Being on team Phoenix is a decision you won't regret." Outside of work, Joele's favorite thing to do is to be with her kids, family and friends. Our Wichita team had a very successful blood drive, exceeding the goal set for them by the American Red Cross, by donating 26 units of blood!

Meet Vicki, a Personal Care Attendant from our Joplin, MO region! We asked, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” Vicki replied with, “I just love helping people who need someone that cares.” When we asked her, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” she told us, "I have always taken care of someone. Phoenix just seemed like the right place.” She has worked in home care off and on for some time, and has been an invaluable Phoenix team member for about a year and three months. A co-worker recently praised Vicki with, "Everyone Vicki works for always has good things to say about her. She really is out there in the field making a difference for her clients and we're so lucky to have her here at Phoenix!" She truly takes our company values to heart, with Vicki herself saying of the Phoenix X Factor, "It means give it your all and be compassionate about your job, and always be caring." Outside of work, you'll find Vicki out on the farm or spending quality time with her family. Vicki, we are so blessed to have your caring heart on Team Phoenix!
