As #breastcancer rates continue to climb in younger adults, it’s essential that we make sure all women are keeping cancer prevention and screenings top of mind. New guidelines released by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force have lowered the age to start screening for breast cancer to 40. However, a survey of over 2,000 patients who viewed a recent breast health campaign on Phreesia’s platform revealed that nearly 20% of women between the ages of 40-45 don’t believe they are at risk for breast cancer. The data indicates there is a need to educate both patients and providers about the new #mammogram guidelines and the relevance of timely screening to people as young as 40. #BreastCancerAwareness Learn how Phreesia’s public health campaigns support preventive and population health efforts: https://bit.ly/4h3aNFo

Phreesia team members Pamela Arbelaez, Ryan Mazar and Kristin McHugh had a great time connecting with peers and partners at #HLTHUSA this week. They joined discussions on topics from the evolution of tech, like wearables, sensors and Gen AI, to broader explorations of challenges and opportunities in women's health, chronic care, health equity and more.     The conversations around the future of healthcare were challenging and inspiring. We’re thrilled to continue building new solutions that connect providers, patients, life sciences organizations and other stakeholders more effectively and help ensure our industry can overcome barriers to reach every patient in the moments that matter.    Interested in connecting with Phreesia? Our team at #HLTHUSA found the keynotes yesterday on women's health and equity gaps particularly inspiring as these and other speakers called on industry stakeholders to Be Bold and reimagine the future of health. This included a discussion with Halle Berry on rethinking menopause (a deeply misunderstood but universal experience for every woman) and another with John Legend about ensuring health solutions truly meet the needs of all patients, including underserved communities who face outsized barriers in accessing healthcare.

    Client Experience at Phreesia

Day 2 of #HLTHUSA wrapped with a star-studded focus on Women's Health and Health Equity. Halle Berry introduced the relaunch of rē•spin with a reimagined focus around menopause that is necessary because it not only affects all women, it also affects every person who knows a woman, is married to a woman, works with a woman, or has a daughter, and, of course, a mother. The relaunch is rooted in 4 key focus areas: 👯 Community - Creating a space for women to learn from and support each other. 📸 Content - Rebranding menopause with represenation of ALL women with lfiestyle branding that is a VIBE. 🛒 Commerce - Partenrship should drive product creation that a woman may not only need, but also wants. 🩺 Care - Health coaches to help navigate what could be an exciting new learning phase of life if we all work together to end stigmization. John Legend followed, sitting with Johnson & Johnson EVP of Global Corporate Affairs Vanessa Broadhurst to speak about health equity through education and accesibility. They spoke about the gaps in the industry regarding accurate representation of the diverse US population in product development. John created LOVED01 for melanin-rich skin to address the unmet need in the dermatology space as people of color are rarely included in derm product testing, despite making up 40% of the population. As it relates to Pharma, Vanessa talked about the VISIBLE clinical study that was designed to generate key disease insights among Black, Hispanic, Asian, Indigenous and other people of color with plaque psorasis. ⚡ Call to action: Be mindful of how beautifully diverse and vaired our country is. Know the right thing to do and invest in our entire population.

One tangible way to have direct impact on patient outcomes is ensuring patients who leave an appointment with a prescription actually fill it. In a recent op-ed with Medical Economics, Hilary Hatch, Ph.D. shares research-backed strategies for supporting medication adherence.    Read the article to learn how digital tools can proactively engage patients the moment their prescription is written and help connect them to the financial support and social resources they need to stay on medication: https://lnkd.in/gdftKZke

    Chief Clinical Officer at Phreesia

One in three patients don't fill their prescriptions, and the top reasons are lack of awareness and costs. I write in Medical Economics that it doesn't have to be this way.    Here are three ways Phreesia makes it easier for patients to fill their prescriptions and get life-saving medicines: 1. Meeting patients in the moments that matter, right after they receive a prescription for a new medication or refill 2. Removing financial and other barriers (patients can initiate a digital request to fill, learn about additional discounts or coupons, and receive their prescriptions the very same day) 3. Automating processes that encourage patients to fill their prescriptions without adding extra work for providers.   Medication Adherence is one of the most tangible and practical way to have a direct impact on patients—particularly those who may also be struggling with health-related social needs.
