We learned that people define financial wellness as having enough to live comfortably, experience little financial stress, and have time to enjoy life. We broke the money taboo during the road trips. We commiserated over financial struggles and opened up about our stresses, and also discussed our hopes and dreams. I shared my financial journey: the good, the bad, the ugly, and eventual successes. What a memorable event in Reno!
When most think of wealth, they often think of financial wealth. But many of us also define wealth in terms of time, connections, experiences, and memories. These are the things we say are truly valuable. These are the things that bring joy and happiness into our lives. And these things are also impacted by money. Money isn't everything, but it impacts most things. It impacts our wellness things–our mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, social, environmental, occupational, and financial health. Because it impacts our well-being, financial knowledge empowers us to change our lives for the better. Be Alert: Scammers Can Hijack Emails! 🚨✉️ Scammers have found another way to trick you - by hijacking the email accounts of your friends or coworkers. Natalie Lizarraga and I spoke about how to protect yourself on NECN. 1. Spot the Odd: If an email from a friend or coworker seems off (e.g. asking about your social security), it probably is fake. Don't share any personal information! 2. Verify Before You Reply: If you receive a suspicious email, even if it seems somewhat believable, delete the email and call the person to verify. 3. Don’t Respond to Suspicious Emails: Never respond to a suspicious email to ask if it's really from the sender. Scammers will just say yes. 4. Help Others Stay Safe: If you receive a weird DM or email from someone you know, let them know. They may not be aware that their account has been hacked. Remember, staying vigilant and verifying suspicious messages is key to protecting yourself and others from scams.
