We had our third AMA for Picklezone last night. Our discussion was focused on the problems in #pickleball, helping players further develop their playing skills based on a roadmap of lessons and committed practices, and how our #ai coaching platform can provide that learning to millions, overcoming the shortage of certified and quality coaches. I am so thrilled to be a part of the PickleZone Team! Buckle Up #Pickleball friends… 2024 is going to be a wild ride! #Picklezone Picklezone
A quick year in review by Picklezone Head Coach and Instructor, and Pickleball Hall of Fame inductee, Scott Moore. (A bit shorten to fit on post). It’s hard to believe that the year is almost over, and all the changes in pickleball that occurred in 2023! Here are some biggies in Review: MLP/PPA bidding war ends with players signing contracts totaling more than $15 million annually (not sustainable so currently being negotiated down), bringing a flood of pro tennis players into the pickleball world. New, 6 team NPL team league started for senior pros. Pickleball Entertainment is blowing up with a couple of hundred currently planned to be built across the U.S. (dev cost $8-$18 million per venue) over the next few years. Pro players, Scott Moore, Jennifer Dawson, and Mona Burnett, inducted into the Hall of Fame. Several hundred repurposed real-estate retail stores and warehouses, being renovated and opening across the U.S. (including dozens of Simon Properties malls). Espire Sports (espiresports.com) in Prescott, AZ, with over 102,000 s.f. under roof is challenged as the world's largest indoor pickleball venue by the Rhythm and Rally Sports and Events Center opened in Macon, Georgia at 166,000 s.f. One MLP team is rumored to have sold for close to $10 million, while Steve Kuhn, the MLP Founder and who has exponentially grown the sport of pickleball to its present glory, resigns from the MLP board. I have to admit that I did not see any of those things coming, so no telling what 2024 will hold. But things that are on the horizon include: Technology will have a deeper impact on pickleball from more on-line courses to certify instructors, AI being utilized to instruct people and analyze their pickleball skills, to a rewards program that will offer the ability to earn pickleball products and services just by playing pickleball (picklezone.com) And betting will become commonplace in the pro pickleball world, just to name a few of the things on the pickleball horizon. Stay tuned for more, as there is no telling where this pickleball explosion will end up, but what a ride it will be! As for me and 2024, I am super excited to get to lead pickleball trips to some of my favorite places, including Belize, Espire, Japan, Montana, and quite likely Viet Nam and New Zealand (pickleballtrips.com for info). For the holidays, I am offering anyone that emails me back by the end of the year (pickleballscott@gmail.com) 10% off on any of my 2 or 3 day camps next year, including the ones at Espire Sports (April 23rd-25th and October 28th-30th, Colorado Springs, July 15th-16th and August 1st-2nd, Wintergreen VA, August 19th and 20th, and Chattanooga, April 12th-13th), or any of the new Paddletek carbon paddles that are sweeping the marketplace. Also be watching for our HPP on-line academy, year end offer that you won't want to miss. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Scott
