In honor of Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible work our veterinary technicians do every day. Our technicians are the heart of our hospital. Their skill, compassion, and dedication to patient care never go unnoticed. Whether it’s comforting a nervous pet, assisting in life-saving procedures, or educating clients, they do it all with kindness and expertise. We are truly fortunate to have such a hardworking and passionate team of technicians at Pieper Veterinary. Their commitment to making a difference in the lives of animals and their families inspires us daily. Thank you for the countless ways you help keep our hospitals running smoothly and for the love you give to every patient. To all veterinary technicians—whether you're part of our team or another amazing hospital—thank you for all that you do! Your work is invaluable, and we appreciate you not just this week, but every single day. #VeterinaryTechnicianWeek #VetTechs #Gratitude #AnimalCare #Teamwork

Each month we gather all of our new teammates in Connecticut and Massachusetts to connect and learn more about Pieper! To ensure we are safe on the floor, our Clinical Trainer Angela Elia ensures all staff from our front desk CSRs to our Veterinarians have the latest and greatest skills on animal safety. Additionally we host an operations partner to review our safety manuals. Bringing the experience full circle, we have a leadership lunch. For September the luncheon was hosted by one of our Medical Directors, Krystian Dabrowski! It’s important to us that all of our leaders know who is beside them on the treatment floor. At Pieper we want all teammates to feel connected, supported, and see how their careers will grow with us! If you are looking for a doctor led veterinary practice, check out our openings… we would love to have you! Welcome to Pieper!

We had a fantastic night in Hartford at our most recent Continuing Education lecture! Over 80 veterinarians and technicians from local hospitals joined us in Hartford for a seminar on Pulmonary Radiology, presented by our board-certified radiology specialist, Dr. Freer. At Pieper we know firsthand the importance of education. It’s our goal for our hospital to be there not only to help our patients, but also to support the veterinarians and technicians that make up the local community. #vetmed #education #radiology

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our oncology specialty department, Dr. Alexie Baja! Alexie Baja, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) is a board-certified oncologist who attended Florida Atlantic University with an undergraduate degree in biology, and achieved her doctorate of veterinary medicine from St. George’s University in Grenada, where she graduated summa cum laude. She completed her clinical year, rotating internship, and residency in medical oncology at North Carolina State University, and is a member of the ACVIM, VCS, and AVMA. Dr. Baja is passionate about client communication and veterinary ethics in daily practice, and is enrolled in a clinical trial focusing on the use of nutritional supplements to decrease chemotherapy-related side effects as she explores the evidence-based integration of alternative medicine in veterinary oncology. Dr. Baja joins Dr. Carreras and Dr. Ho in the oncology team at Pieper Veterinary, which is now the largest veterinary oncology group in Connecticut! Oncology consults are now available five days a week Monday - Friday in Middletown, and Tuesday - Friday in Stratford. We're excited to welcome Dr. Baja to the team and are looking forward to working together to continue to provide exceptional care for our patients!
