Pierce County recognizes October 10 as World Homeless Day, which aims to raise awareness about the needs of people who currently experience homelessness and promote work in local communities to assist our neighbors in need. October is a good month for learning more about the challenges and accomplishments of people experiencing homelessness. Reducing the social stigma that surrounds homelessness is important, as no one is absolutely safe from experiencing this crisis. The personal circumstances that may lead to homelessness are many, and can afflict people from virtually every community. Visit https://bit.ly/483WlZR to learn more. If you’re experiencing homelessness, call 211 for on-demand support or to schedule an appointment and get connected to resources.
