🌟 Honoring Sergeant Major Gonzalez 🌟
On July 30, we had the distinct honor of conducting a Veteran Recognition Ceremony for former Army Sergeant Major Gonzalez at his home, surrounded by his wife and three daughters. Olivia, our Veteran Liaison, presented Sergeant Major Gonzalez with a flag used at the National Cemetery on Memorial Day, a handcrafted red, white, and blue blanket, and a special challenge coin from Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care.
One of the most meaningful moments was when Sergeant Major Gonzalez shared his advice from one Army Veteran to another: "Be close to your father and mother."
Following the ceremony, his family proudly shared his military room, filled with scrapbooks, medals, and photos from his remarkable service in Korea and beyond. It was a beautiful tribute to his life and dedication.
While hospice care wasn’t yet a choice the family was ready to make, we were able to offer additional resources to support their needs as they continue to care for Sergeant Major Gonzalez at home.
Thank you, Sergeant Major Gonzalez, for your unwavering dedication and service to our nation. 🇺🇸
