Catering company that creates culinary experiences as imaginative as they are practical.

About us

We have nothing against conventional catering. It’s just not what we do. As top-tier NYC culinary veterans with extensive experience in event catering, we believe our clients deserve a taste of something new and unpredictable, an experience that leverages the best food with never-before-seen presentation. So we created Pinch Food Design, a bold new brand of catering powered by a state-of-the-art kitchen and design workshop devoted solely to the creation of one-of-a-kind “food furniture.” Our intention? To impress, entertain and inspire with food as delicious as it is daring, and design as inviting as it is innovative.

At Pinch, we’re all about creating unforgettable moments that spark surprise! Last week, we brought the WOW for OMEGA SA with our coconut rum martini fountain, a crowd-stopping experience that kept the martinis flowing and guests glowing. Cheers to crafting the unexpected! 🍸✨

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗨𝗽 𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗪𝗮𝘆! Hello, fellow Pincher! Welcome to the first issue of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘩 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵 – your go-to newsletter for fresh takes on food, design, and zesty ideas curated by the Pinch team. With the holiday dinner season upon us, we’re here to help you spice up your table decor with three Pinch tricks. Let’s make this season one to remember! 𝟭. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 🧀 Candle-lit tables create the perfect vibe, but have you ever thought about using food as the holder? Picture this: Swiss cheese, lotus roots, or even a bagel holding your candles. It’s fun, it’s already in your pantry, and it adds an extra layer of seasonal poetry to your table setting. 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: We opted for natural beeswax candles to keep our food chemical-free and safe, have a longer burn time, and keep the aroma neutral. 𝟮. 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘂-𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 🍄 Forget boring place cards – it’s time to Pinch things up! There’s something special about seeing your name at the table, so for our playful twist, we suggest surprising your guests by using ingredients from the meal as place card holders. It gives them a little sneak peek of what’s cooking! Plus, it allows everyone to appreciate the beauty of fresh ingredients before they’re transformed into a delicious dish. For our dinner, we featured a fall mushroom risotto and used a few fresh mushrooms as place card holders. They were absolutely gorgeous! 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: Head to your local farmers market, they have the freshest + most special place card holders you can find. 𝟯. 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝘁 🥬 We all love flowers, but for fall, let’s shake things up with some edible décor! We hit up our local farmers market and scored some fall-colored gems. Imagine these vibrant crudités styled to entice, all paired with flavorful dips - think creamy hummus or herb-infused olive oils. Tasty + beautiful? Oh yes, we’re all in! 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: To help build our edible bouquet we used a Japanese kenzan flower holder. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 🌶️🌽🥕🍋 These are just a few ideas to spark your Pinch-spiration table designs. Snap some photos and send them our way, we’re excited to see how you let your imagination run wild! 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: We went retro with film cameras to capture the magic of our dinner party. We suggest you pass one around, and let your guests get in on the fun. Send the developed photos as an invitation to your next party.

Our very own, Carly Katz-Hackman talks with Financial Times about the evolution of buffet-style dining and how traditional buffets have been reimagined and refined into a more upscale and interactive experience! 💛 "The benefit of these out-of-chair experiences – especially at weddings where two families are coming together and strangers meet for the first time – is they help break the ice. “You can look over that food station, lock eyes with someone you’ve never met and have something to talk about,” says Katz-Hackman. https://lnkd.in/ewGU3nw7
