With over 4,200 new retail store openings in 2024 so far, the continued importance of a brick-and-mortar footprint in #omnichannel retail is being underscored. Formerly pure online retailers like Wayfair are strategically expanding into brick-and-mortar storefronts. Wayfair opened its first large-format store in Illinois to enhance the customer experience, which can be more engaging than online shopping, as stated by CEO Niraj Shah. Likewise, allowing consumers to try or see products in person significantly reduces return rates, a $200 billion dilemma for online retail today according to Forbes. This move aligns Wayfair with other digitally native companies like Warby Parker, Figs, Glossier, and Everlane, which have also leaned further into physical retail spaces. #cre #retail #brickandmortar

🎨 Glendale Marketplace's marketing team recently hosted its second annual Chalk-A-Doodle Festival at the shopping center located in Glendale, CA. In partnership with two local community art organizations, this free family-friendly summer event featured live viewings of chalk artists creating murals throughout the shopping center, art exhibitions, live music, and store promotions from the center's retailers – drawing well over 500 visitors and generating thousands of social media impressions. Skilled local artists created colorful sidewalk murals while artist workshops provided interactive experiences for visitors, driving foot traffic and benefiting the retailers of Glendale Marketplace. This event was promoted in close coordination with the City of Glendale and the Glendale Downtown Business District. #cre #shoppingcentermarketing #glendale #marketingevents
