Thank you to Breckinridge Capital Advisors for supporting a summer BBQ at our veterans housing in Dorchester. Efforts like this build community and help veterans feel cared for. Thank you for your continued support!

Recently, iCater Boston trainees were taught the art of coffee making by former Pine Street trainee: Kossi B. from CuppaCoffee. "It feels good to give back," says Kossi. "Who would've thought that I would come back to Pine Street and be in a position to teach? It's really special."

Criminalizing homelessness is not a solution to encampments. It is unfortunate that this U. S. Supreme Court decision does not focus on solutions to homelessness, which start with housing that people can afford and supportive services for those who need them. The energy, time and resources it could potentially take to enforce this ruling would be better spent addressing the issues of a housing shortage and high rents. https://lnkd.in/ecp78m-z

As Pride month winds down, we're continuing to recognize LGBTQIA+ members of our community and their empowering work. Justice LaForest is a triage supervisor and co-chair of Pine Street's LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group. She works to create a more inclusive culture for staff, guests and tenants. Recently, one of Pine Street's residences in Dorchester organized a community breakfast and cleaning event with SoClean, our long-term partner. For tenants who may have lived without a home of their own for an extended period of time, the act of tidying up is a step toward stability and a sense of ownership.
