  • 🌿 Embracing Mindful Walking 🚶♂️🌸 In the hustle and bustle of daily life, sometimes the best way to reconnect with ourselves is through mindful walking. 🌼 Taking each step consciously, feeling the ground beneath our feet, and noticing the rhythm of our breath can be incredibly grounding. This week, I took a moment to stroll through nature, letting go of distractions and simply being present in the moment. 🍃 Living in the city can make this feel like a challenging task - but all of these photos were taken around my neighbourhood and workplace. It is amazing what you can see when you start to intentionally tune into the world around you. Mindful walking can bring a sense of calm and clarity. Give it a try and share photos of what you find in the comments below 👇🏻 #MindfulWalking #NatureTherapy #OT365 #occupationaltherapy #NatureOT

When I started PivOT in January, I wasn’t exactly confident that I could start my own business (NTS📝: thank husband for ongoing encouragement and for having a more balanced perspective for every “but, what if…” that I threw out there). But, what a busy 7 months it has been! 🎉Supporting clients in managing their mental health and wellness, and working toward their goals has been a privilege. In the past 7 months I have learned many valuable lessons, both as a clinician and a business owner and I look forward to what the next 7 months will bring. PivOT was started with a goal of integrating more nature-based interventions into practice and connecting clients with the restorative benefits of the natural world which can positively influence the health of people and our planet. 🌎🌱 Now that things have settled down a bit, I am excited about the work I’m doing to help move PivOT in that direction and sharing these projects in the months to come. Until then, here’s a snap from the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Waterton Lakes National Park, where I was fortunate enough to spend time reconnecting with nature myself last month after a very busy spring. #naturetherapy #naturebasedOT #occupationaltherapy #planetaryhealth #MentalHealthOT #prevention #heathpromotion
